Our d-line is just disappointing. Time to start over again.

#5 overall
#3 overall
#11 overall

with all of our money tied into the d-line. The future of our franchise is pretty much determined by these 3 guys. We failed at that and I'm afraid we are going to have to start over....again.

Sure they are ok at stopping the run. But they make no difference when we need players to make a damn difference. They didn't get any sort of push yesterday. Didn't make any plays other than a few good run stops. But when the pressure is on and we need guys to step it up, they will never do that. Don't give me that excuse that d-linemen in this defense aren't gonna get stats and their jobs is to free the OLB's. I've seen plenty of 3-4 defenses where the d-line can step it up and make a play when it's needed. These guys just cannot, of course the verdict is still out on Poe and he did have that one good tackle...

And also, who the **** drafts 3 d-lineman in 5 years in the first round?

Teams that fail do that. If you are gonna build your team around a defensive line, then they better ****ing be able to do something like the Giants d-line. I don't see much difference in the defense when Dorsey and TJax are out and replaced by their backups who were late round picks.

honestly, I think we are going to have to start over again. But if it's not going to be done right, what's the ****ing point? We are going to battle for that #1 pick and honestly, I hope we lose every game this season just to get it. Start over. Do it right. Draft your skill positions in the first round. Starting with QB of course.

Our D-Line is not asked to put up amazing numbers. On paper they are going to suck.

LB'er get to put up the big numbers in a 3-4.

Poe, Powe, bailey, rope a titty, and Jackson is a good enough 3-4 dl even without Dorsey. On our list of problems, DL is at the bottom

I don't agree. Right now, we are so shitty, that what I want to see is Poe develop. Powe is a stopgap. He's okay at playing an obsolete position, which is a 2-down 3-4 Nose Tackle. Poe's upside is that he can one day play the nose tackle and one day begin to learn the 5-technique, so he never has to leave the field.

I am not a fan of Pioli. But Poe was a great pick, and it's exactly the kind of gamble he hasn't made in years. Get Poe to learn the hard, important position first. Then begin to move him around the line.

If you put Dorsey in a 2-gap, you ask him to shed a little weight. His strength out of college is that he's strong and extremely explosive with a terrific first step. He's going to get in the backfield a lot in a 1-gap. The reason he can't rush the passer is that he doesn't have closing speed. But he'll harass the QB enough that it doesn't matter much if he gets the actual sack.

Powe is actually an accomplished college player who's shown flashes at the pro level.

Poe was a project player in college and is a project player in the pros.

Homer Dane!

You were so full of shit this offseason.

Owned again!

Why do people keep saying Dorsey will be gone next year? I don't see him getting big money anywhere so its not like he should be that expensive. I'd say Tyson Jackson would be more likely to be gone because his contract is outrageous and I don't see them being able to renegotiate it anywhere close to the level matching his play. Dorsey seems to have had a bigger impact on our defense as well (by that I mean, when he's not playing our defense seems to play like shit). Dump Jackson and take Dorsey at a reasonable pay.

I'd be curious what would happen if they swapped Dorsey and Poe.

Hell with the way this season's going I'd just trot out crazy shit. Put T-Jax, Powe, Dorsey, and Poe on the line (with Bailey and Ripouita swapping in and out regularly namely on passing downs though), Houston, Belcher, and Hali the LBs, call DJ a strong safety and play him about like they were playing Berry his first year, and make Berry the FS. Try to get some aggression out of these guys, our defense plays like they're whacked out on Riddlin or something. They're already getting blown out so why not at least let them try to make plays so they can figure out what that's actually like. Instead of giving up points or letting the other team march down the field slowly eating up clock like they were the two previous years.

I agree about Powe. I have no idea why this place has such a hardon for him. I don't think he's bad, but he's not the missing piece the defense needed, he's just a guy that's played ok in limited action in a limited role.

I wouldn't call Poe a great pick at all. Maybe in time and yes its far too early to really evaluate it but another Pioli reach so far.

Powe > Poe

Dorsey sucks. One of the knocks on him out of college was he had bad knees. Well he can't stay healthy now. I see him being a bubble player in the next couple of years and mabe out of the league in 3.

No excuse that we can't get a couple sacks each from Tyson Jackson and Glenn Dorsey in 6 games. They are pathetic. I don't care if it is a 3-4 defense and they just fill holes. On third and long they should be getting pressure on the QB. They are not doing that. We get picked apart on defense with out the aplied pressure. Justin Houston was in coverage and got burned too for it. So those guys just arn't good enough force plays.

**** em.

Until we switch out of the 2 gap, drafting a dlineman in the first 3 rounds is unforgivable.

Owned by what?

So, if the Chiefs go 1-15 or 2-14 and Pioli isn't fired, I'll be "owned"?

Okay.

You sure are acting like a dick lately.

You've already been owned.

I mean, you thought this was a playoff team.

That quote is just more proof of the homer rampage you went on. 12 wins?

It's cool, Dane...everyone has to eat a little shit now and again around here.
