I'm sad to report a fellow poster has been going through a tough run lately, health-wise. He never told me he'd wish to remain anonymous - however, I'm respecting the fact that he never asked, nor requested this thread's creation in any way. However he's a dear friend and one of the nicest people on this site.

Please just offer your support to him any way that you can, whether that's a simple good thought or a prayer or simply words of encouragement. He really legitimately needs this right now.

Things are starting to move fast now. I have a CT scan at 2:30 pm today (just got a call saying I could get in and do it) and then I have to get blood drawn, and on the 8th I have an appt. with a doc at KU Med. With all that is going on and all I'm facing, here I am sweating having blood drawn. I *hate* needles! I can't psyche myself up for it at all. Nothing helps. It's not the blood. I could just shave twice and they could get all they need from my neck. It's not that it hurts; I've had worse bug bites. It just comes from some dark place in my brain where logic and reason can't reach. I get pale, sweat from my head down to my toes, see a haze of yellow dots before my eyes, and sound swirls around my head like someone put a big bucket over it. Pitiful, just pitiful.

I don't know if it is good news or not, but I had a CT scan Friday and they didn't rush me off to the ER. I just got a CD of the images and they told me to give it to my doc, then said they'd get me out of there so I can get started on my weekend. The worst part Friday was having to tear the tape off the inner bend of my elbow where they ran an IV. I'm rather furry.
