Mahomes in the locker room after the afcc

A friend in KC texted me yesterday. He was talking with a coach who was in the locker room and said that Mahomes was very vocal in the privacy of the locker room after the game.

He was screaming that "we are not going to keep losing games like this." Apparently, even Reid had to calm him down.

Now, this is all hearsay upon hearsay, but it came from a reliable source. I think that - assuming it is true - this is absolutely part of Sutton going. Clark and Reid know that this franchise is about making the most of Mahomes' prime. While he said everything right in the press conference and microphone, it's clear Mahomes knows the defense allowing opposing QBs to score at will has been the downfall all year.

It's a tough loss, but the start of a fantastic journey. I'm more excited at the end of the year than I ever have been.

This information was relayed to me from the perspective of Mahomes was being very fiery, and very vocal, but not calling out anyone specifically. This was not in poor form, but rather a pretty exceptional display of culture change for a team accustomed to losing.

EDITED.

I love it! He should be playing in the Super Bowl. He knows it and so do the Chiefs.

Fat Andy owes Pat an apology for putting friendship over results and murdering his record setting season.

I really don’t care if Andy goes anyway. I’m tired of his shit. His betrayal with sutton is fireable. PATRICK M is our franchise, not Kool-ade dude. Go give Nagy a call.

Do you people realize that w/out Andy's creativity on offense, things could go to shit pretty damn quickly?

Yes, Mahomes will have a certain amount of success in any system. But there's no denying that Reid was a huge part of his 50 TDs and 5000 yards. We don't have linemen that can line up and dominate the LOS or open gaping holes. The success of the offense was heavily dependent upon creativity and confusing defenses.

But proceed....fire Andy because he didn't fire Sutton a year ago!

If Andy Reid just wants to be an OC, then he should just hire a "Team Manager" who can do shit like call a timeout when the defense is getting bulldozed on a drive that could determine whether or not we go to the Super Bowl.

Reid can still control everything else, but on gameday, when he wants to just sit his fat ass next to Mahomes and discuss offense, ignoring what is going on with his defense, the Team Manager can handle timeouts, challenges, etc.

I am still pissed off that we ended the game with an exhausted defense, and unused timeouts.

But you might as well. What's there to lose ? I mean I guess you could argue you might need it later, but we needed one then for sure and with the way the defense was playing it was it highly unlikely we would've made it to the end of OT. If we got the ball back we were going to score. If they got it a second time they were too. It would have been good just for everyone to catch their breath and calm the **** down for a minute.

Well, I know that we didn't get extra points for saving those timeouts. But, Brady had just thrown 2 picks, one nullified by Dee Ford, so who knows. But, I think it was very clear that the defense was exhausted, so why the **** would you not call a timeout, regardless of what you believe to be the inevitable outcome?

Despite knowing what was going to happen, it still pisses me off that NO ONE thought to call a time out. The guys were gassed. At least let them catch their breath and put whatever effort they had left into it.

We still need a coach with the sole responsibilities of telling Reid to run when we should be running and to manage the clock and call time outs. He's needed this crutch his whole career. It's not going to change.

Context is everything here and for some the definition of "losing their **it" is a lot different from truly "losing their **it".

We'll never know but regardless of what context it was in I'm glad it happened.
