If I'm being an optimist, the last quarter or so for the very first time I saw the defense play with fire. If they play with that, then maybe I start to feel a little better (was never worried about our offense).

But the first half was defense fool's gold. We couldn't stop a really bad offense to save our life & we suck at stopping the run. A QB with ball security and receivers who don't quit on their routes don't commit nearly that many boneheaded turnovers.

If there's any truth to the rumors that Bob has had a lot taken away from him... and especially if that led to 2nd half adjustments... then I feel much much better about today's game.

Felt much better about tonight's performance but then I remembered that we'll likely not face the raiders during playoffs.

I had 100% confidence we were going to crush the Raiders yesterday.

They blew their loads last week at home in an emotional game against the Broncos, who in reality have become their bigger rival. They had to travel to KC, had ZERO riding on the game, no one wants to end the season with an injury so many guys play "safe", plus they were not super healthy or playing well.

Beating KC to drop us down in seeding is hardly something to get pumped about.....

"... after this performance?" .....of course not, beating some shit team doesn't mean anything in terms of being able to win in the playoffs.

One less game and HFA throughout... of course, that's huge.

I said "maybe" because I feel like 5% more confident... it really looked like the Raiders had given up on this season, they were playing so sloppy. In some ways it felt like the Raiders beat themselves. However, our defense did at least appear to be fired up so if there is any chance that intensity could carry over to the playoff game then that might give us a little bit of an edge.

I'm still cautiously optimistic about our chances though. We've got Mahomes and Arrowhead throughout the playoffs. Our chances are as good as anyone's to make it out of the AFC.

Might be a cliche now, but the league is changing. Can’t compare this to 80s or 90s defenses or even defenses from 5 years ago.

Also might be a cliche, but no one else has had Mahomes.

Really, I think it comes down to the circumstances. If we get an early lead and teams are forced to throw to keep up, I think we can bury teams. Especially with a healthy Watkins, Berry, etc.

If we allow teams to control time of possession by running all over us, there’s little margin for error.

A pick 6 and 28 points against a defense with nothing to play for...hard to say? Or maybe not...Achilles heal is the defense so basically avoid good offenses. I can only imagine the pressure on them playing the Colts at home, knowing how humiliating it would be to lose to them again! Then again, could have the opposite effect and at least make their defense play that much better, utterly refusing to let Luck beat them. But think the Colts could steal one more than the other two.

I kind of feel the same way. I wasn't even comfortable with the 21-0 lead. But something happened in the 2nd half. I'm hoping Andy decided to "shake things up" by effectively benching the DC.

I feel better. Our D has played better at home. Even the Chargers game the defense played pretty well for 3 and a half quarters. If we had given up 30 to the Raiders this game I would've been a hell of a lot more concerned going into the playoffs.
