Finally caught up here.
Just because we don't comment doesn't mean we aren't watching. Interesting with Young in Cincy. These rosters are really top notch. What of the draft picks each year do you have to edit or create? |

It's usually about 100-120 players. I just go down the list on pro football reference until I reach garbage players. I skip those and let the garbage rookies in Madden keep their real names/attributes.
Just this week I discovered wikipedia has all the notable undrafted free agents listed so I added about 30 guys, since you can see the history for each player and if they were undrafted or not. Kurt Warner is a backup in Buffalo. Next year Priest Holmes is going to slip on someone's roster. There was also a really, really good undrafted RB with 96 speed that slipped through the cracks this year. I knew someone was going to sign him, so I turned him into Tim Hall, who was murdered, in Kansas City of all places. Nobody claimed him, so he is now a Chief. |

Chiefs have two big contracts to get done this year: Will Shields and Deion Sanders.
Deion signs a 3 year, $39.3 million deal. He's back! Will Shields, who is 95 OVR now, has turned down a 5-year, $40 million deal. I have one more chance to sign him or it's franchise tag time. Guess I'll have to throw the bank at him. |

The Chiefs drop their Week 2 game against the Texans, 30-23, who prove to be the up-and-coming power they've been hyped up to be. KC holds Chris Warren to 91 yards on 24 carries, but Chris Chandler throws for 326 yards and 3 TD and Alvin Harper goes off for 142 yards.
In Week 3, Eric Moulds gets his first NFL TD, and the Chiefs beat the Raiders, 32-29, on a last second field goal. Zach Thomas gets his first NFL sack. Look how tiny he is! In Week 4, Barry Sanders! The ****ening has begun! Barry gets through three guys for another TD. The Lions then knock Joe Montana from the game with a high ankle sprain. The Chiefs get ****ed hard. Barry Sanders is held to 62 yards on 19 carries, but Rodney Peete goes off for 353 yards and 4 TD. In Week 5, the Chiefs get back to winning against the Oilers and Rob Johnson. Eric Moulds roasts Cris Dishman: The Chiefs are running out the clock in the 4th when Ray Childress decides HE IS GOING TO SCORE AND NO ONE IS GOING TO STOP HIM. Nice going, Ray, but not enough to win the game. Joe Montana wins Player of the Week honors with 338 yards and 3 TD, mostly thanks to Keith Cash returning from a 4-week injury and going off for 134 yards. The Chiefs are 3-2 and Dan Marino comes to Arrowhead next and we FINALLY get our Montana-Marino matchup. |

I'm having some injury issues. Mark Fields missed three games and he usually plays in that quarters package. Zach isn't nearly as good in coverage right now.
God he looks tiny though. Losing Cash for four weeks wasn't good and my nickel corner is out, too. Collins is too slow to play regularly in the nickel now. Playing Marino, the Lions and the Texans wasn't easy, though. Two games back of Denver, I should be OK if I can sweep them. |

The Chiefs run their record to 5-3 with wins over the Jaguars and Chargers.
Terrell Davis is having a monster season. He earns player of the week honors with 245 rushing yards against the Chargers to take over the NFL rushing lead after eight games: In other news, Kordell Stewart has progressed at an amazing rate for the New York Giants (who traded for him from the Raiders a year ago), and leads the NFL in passing. Reggie Slack has also come out of nowhere to turn in a nice season for the Bills. Despite big numbers from their QBs, the Giants and Bills are 2-7 and 2-6. The real story of the NFL season though is Thomas Homco, who leads the NFL with an earth-shattering 13 sacks. Who the **** is Thomas Homco, you ask? I have no idea either: http://www.pro-football-reference.co...H/HomcTh20.htm Strangely enough, Homco's season hasn't paid dividends for the Panthers, who are 2-6 and have allowed 27 points a game, partially thanks to the geriatric Boomer Esiason's 13 interceptions. In other news, the Chiefs will surely regret letting Rich Gannon escape to San Francisco, as he leads the NFL in TD passes and has the 49ers at 5-2-1 and in first place in the NFC West. The Chiefs are two games back of AFC leading 7-1 Denver, who has put together an impressive squad with the #2 offense and defense, leading the NFL with 37 sacks. Rookie WR Eddie Kennison has turned in a nice season for Denver with 530 yards and 4 TD. AFC notes: Steve Young and Cincinnati are 6-2. Ravens rookie WR Terrell Owens has 458 yards and 5 TD Texans rookie MLB Ray Lewis has piled up 76 tackles and 5 PD for the 30th ranked Texans defense. NFC notes: Tampa Bay and Steve McNair, who has 18 TD passes, lead the NFC at 7-1. Virtual Eddie George is averaging 3.4 YPC. What an accurate sim this is! Falcons rookie WR Marvin Harrison has 446 yards and 3 TD. |

Monday Night at Green Bay! Bring it on Favre.
Spoiler!
First I'll have to get past the Vikings, who have a legitimately scary defense. Chris Doleman, John Randle, Jack Del Rio, and they've drafted Tim Bowens, Shawn Wooden and Tyronne Drakeford, too.
Spoiler!
