Let's talk about sleep

In my entire life, I have had the uncanny ability to lay down ANYWHERE under almost any CIRCUMSTANCE and fall asleep within 5 minutes or less.

I started napping as a kid, worked in the newspaper business as a pressman and slept on steel catwalks, in piles of discarded newsprint, inside a printing press that was not running at the time and laying on top of a rolls of newsprint.

I've fallen asleep in reclined chairs, firm chairs and chairs where I put my feet up on a desk.

In the outdoors I've fallen asleep on the grass at picnics, in lawn chairs at parties, on the top of a hood of a parked car and even standing up while leaning on a parking meter at the end of a night of drinking.

I can sleep in the passenger seat of a car, plane, boat or a rubber dinghy in a pool and even in a bathtub when just right.

Lately for the first time in life I've got my sleep schedule and the amount of hours I am sleeping all screwed up and I'm not sure what time it is each time I wake up. I'm working weird hours and sleeping even stranger. I know some is due to being older but not getting sleep sucks moose cock and I'm done with it!

I NEED BETTER SLEEP.......

So tell everyone here, what's your sleep story: the Good the Bad and the Ugly.

Try to keep a consistent sleep schedule. Lay off canine and electronics. Don’t work out late.

If none of that works hit a sleep study.
canine---i think he means caffeine. Although lay off the dogs too. That may get weird.

Have been seeing a sleep doctor for several years. Even with numerous lifestyle changes, nothing worked well other than ambien which I only use sparingly. Finally I found a medical
marijuana product from Trulieve called RSO Syringe Indica which works great. You use a very small amount. It takes a while to kick in.

For most of my life, I’ve had trouble falling asleep, which resulted in tiredness throughout the day.

A couple years ago, I started taking a small dose of melatonin 30 min before bed, and I’ve never had trouble since.

Zero side effects

I have always had very erratic sleep habits. I can fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. Staying asleep is and has always been my problem. I will start waking up about 3 hours after falling asleep. When I awake my mind is racing about one thing or another.

I have worked shift work, working 6 to 6 switching between nights and days for about 35 years. For the past 5 years I have been on days only. I am up at 4am on work days. I blame shift work for most of my sleep issues.

I don't really like taking anything to help me sleep, but I occasionally take doxylamine (Unisom) after struggling through a few sleepless nights. I do have to cut them in half or I am pretty groggy when I wake up.

You sound like my parents, heh heh. Both my mom and dad could fall asleep on a boulder within' seconds of closing their eyes.

I, on the other hand, have always struggled with insomnia. You could plop me down into a giant, fluffy, plushy bed fit for a billionaire and I'd still toss and turn for an hour or two 'for finally getting to sleep. And then I'd wake up a dozen times during the night, so I tend to struggle to get up in the morning with any regularity.

When I do sleep, especially in my own bed it doesn't take me long though.

I consume 600 mg caffeine 4 days a week. I sleep just fine. If I'm traveling Ive always had trouble sleeping though. Ive tried Melotonin or whatever and it does nothing for me.

Well yeah... Pot is the most ideal natural sleep aid available. Side effects include appetite and happy as **** euphoria. It's just not legal for most people....
