Should the Chiefs have drafted Watson over Mahomes?

Another strong game today for Watson. 3 TDs against the Titans so far.

Kid just seems to have 'It'.

Mahomes might be Skip's most hated player in the NFL, actually.
Views him as a threat to his favorites Mayfield, Watson, Brady, etc. Wants to put him in the Aaron Rodgers box, which is a flawed comparison due to the fact Rodgers is an arrogant jerk and Mahomes gets along with his teammates/coaches.

He's fine. He's a solid quarterback. He could win a championship some day.

But he's a tier removed from elite.

If Watson's just "fine" then the state of QB play in the NFL is truly sad.

Who's better? Mahomes and Wilson for sure. Jackson certainly had a better season but if there was a draft right now I'd take Deshaun ahead of Lamar. You could make an argument for Brees and Wentz. That's about it.

Wentz? LOL. Carson Wentz? How could anybody argue that he's better than Deshaun Watson?

I agree.

Only QBs I'd take over Watson are Mahomes and Wilson.. but I'm sure someone here could "make an argument" for Wentz.

Compared to Mahomes, Watson is "fine." I'll even upgrade him to "good."

But they're just not in the same tier.

Dabo Swinney said Watson was Michael Jordan.

If he's right, then that makes Mahomes...Jesus Christ?

I would agree but saying Watson is just fine or even 'good' is a bit disingenuous.

He's got a couple weaknesses, as do most QBs, but he's really not being placed in a situation that gives him the best chance to succeed. He's got a crap OL, no receivers outside of Hopkins, no TE, no RB (I guess Duke is a pretty good pass catcher) and a shitty defense.

Fuller is a good deep threat. Plenty of QB's around the league wish they had Hopkins/Fuller.

I think Deshaun is damn good, but a clear step below Patrick and Russell. Just wish the media would stop treating it like they're equals. They are not.

Watson's good. Better than I thought he would be.

He's got a bit of magic to him.

But he is not Michael Jordan.

If anyone is, it's Mahomes.

Watson's been overhyped, and that's not his fault.

You can win with that kid, but not with that coach.
