Should the Chiefs have drafted Watson over Mahomes?

Another strong game today for Watson. 3 TDs against the Titans so far.

Kid just seems to have 'It'.

Yeah, BoB's dumbassery certainly doesn't help him.

So much of these things are about the overall situation.

If you put Watson here with Andy and the skill guys here, he'd be really good. He's not Mahomes but he's a really good player.

This is true, but your last sentence is the point.

Andy and Veach got it right

Watson can play no doubt, but you'd have to be crazy to take him over Mahomes.

I don't think either would have really been the wrong choice though. If Pat was anywhere else, I don't think he'd be doing what he's doing yet.

But putting him with Andy and company, yeah, that's the stuff. The Chiefs have done it perfectly, putting everything around and building with the QB.

“Clutch QB” my ass.

Watson is a good QB, but can we finally put to rest the notion that anything you did in college matters at all in the NFL when it comes to wins and losses?

Coaches dominate college. Not QBs. End of story.

It’s ok to acknowledge other teams have great players too.

The Chiefs had a highly paid top 15 veteran QB they had invested in for multiple seasons and made the playoffs 3 of the past 4 seasons prior to drafting Mahomes. It made sense for the Chiefs to sit Mahomes for that season because they could.

The Texans were desperate and had to start Watson in his rookie season. In that stupidly small sample size, you posed the question whether the Chiefs should have drafted Watson instead of Mahomes.

No, it's no ok, Deberg. It was a troll move.
