Rocketman

Any Elton John fans around here? Just got back from seeing Rocketman, and it's a solid watch. It's a little less plot-driven than Bohemian Rhapsody (which basically made a bunch of shit up to make the story compelling), but it's a nice excuse to learn a bit about Elton's life and enjoy the music. Taron Egerton actually does a really nice job from end to end. (He sings all of the songs and does them justice.)

Anyway, it's worth the ticket if you're a fan. Probably not if you aren't.

If Malek can win an Oscar without actually singing the songs, Egerton deserves two Oscars.

Next big biopic?

George Michael... gay, untimely demise

David Bowie... flamboyant, thought to be bisexual until he revealed he was a closeted heterosexual, long interesting life

Prince... flamboyant, self-loathing gay?

Village People... lots of gay, fun costumes

You are a great prognosticator of the rump ranger film genre...
