Thoughts on the Bears winning the NFC Championship?

They're at +2800 right now with Caesar's Sports book. Convince me how this isn't worth a $200 wager.

I only bet on my own performance. It's just a rule I follow. I wouldn't bet a literal dime on the Chiefs wearing red this upcoming season.

For me, the hard part is that their best way to win is to do this the Philly way but with worse players, especially at qb and coaching. But they are definitely intriguing given how the weak conference and the absurd amount of salary cap they have.

Assuming they draft as well as they fleeced Carolina, they should be competitive soon. But not this year.

I was discussing this with one of my Bears fan buddies the day of the trade. I told him that with a little luck Chicago could be good enough in a couple of years to lose to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

The NFC is so ridiculously wide open, it's not hard to fathom seeing the Bears make a Philly like leap, especially in that division. I honestly think the Bears and Lions could easily finish as the top two teams in the North.

If Fields can take the next step as a passer like Hurts did, and you hit on some of these draft picks and spend your free agency money wisely, they could easily be in the mix. Right now it's Philly, SF and a bunch of unknowns. They could easily jump into it.

It's the Bears. That's all the convincing you should need.

I was at Soldier Field when they won the 2006 NFC Championship Game against New Orleans. Sure, they shit their pants against the Colts in the Super Bowl, but they did get there.

Yeah, anything could happen in the shit-ass NFC but they're firmly in my 'DO NOT TRUST/DO NOT BELIEVE IN' category.

If you don't have an issue with losing $200 then go for it.

The Chiefs were in everybody else's "do not trust/do not believe in" category for a long time as well. Until they weren't.
