NFL Rumors: Mahomes, Watson atop KC's QB wish list

From SportingNews.com:

http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news...j17r8odsobcbca

Quote:
— The Chiefs, who have been linked to most quarterbacks during the 2017 NFL Draft process so far, are in no rush to find a quarterback savior. With Alex Smith slated to be the starter in 2017 but ideally not in 2018, the Chiefs are looking for a passer with the highest upside without needing him to play as a rookie — a dream scenario for a quarterback prospect.

— I believe Patrick Mahomes is the Chiefs' QB1 from what I’ve heard, but Deshaun Watson makes sense as well. They’ll need to trade up for both. If they stay at 27, the one quarterback whom they could shockingly have interest in is Davis Webb of California. They’ve also shown interest in Nathan Peterman and Brad Kaaya, but likely don’t value either as top-two rounders.
Now, the writer of this got all of his info in the article from speaking to FO people and scouts at the combine. You can question the validity, but the Chiefs did meet with all of the players mentioned at the combine.

If this report is accurate, the Chiefs could indeed be on the path to Patrick Mahomes or Deshaun Watson holding up their jersey in 7 weeks in Philadelphia.

I have. Both are about the same. Wilson throws the ball deeper but also turns the ball over more and throws less touchdowns and less yards.

1 has won despite playing two of the worst playoff games I've seen and the other has lost despite playing one of the best playoff games I've seen. If Smith could win while throwing for 103 yards, the chiefs would have won a Superbowl by now. Disagree?

Wilson has had many other games where he led his team to a win and has dealt with some of the worst Offensive Line play I've ever seen.

Smith is just......Smith. High end QB's have bad games, not exactly a newsflash.

Are we really arguing about who's a better game manager between a guy who's been to 2 super bowls, winning 1, and a guy who has 2 career postseason wins?

And speaking of defenses holding hot offenses to low points, the Seahawks defense held the highest scoring offense in NFL history to only 8 points. So while Alex has been backed up by decent defenses, Russell has been backed up by other worldly defenses.

They gave up only 18 points and even got a turnover. That's elite.

It's not their fault Alex went 3.5 quarters without scoring a TD

This isn't carrying their team?

I guess Tom Brady coming back from 14 and 25 point deficits in the 2nd half of the last 2 SB's isn't carrying his team. His defense scored all those points right?

Holy shit you're a special kind of stupid apologist

I ****ing love Chiefs fans. Another team drafts a franchise QB who wins super bowls, and the narrative isn't "Man, did we **** up picking Donald Fatass Stephenson ONE PICK before this champion," but instead "DERP THERE QB ISNT RELLY THAT GOOD"

Yes.

Yes, he is.

Alex scored 44 points in a playoff game and lost.

"The will to win" differentiates these 2 players. No other example personifies that than Wilson making the clutch 2 point conversion in the game you referenced. The dagger deep TD pass in OT of the game is even more proof of this.

Defense wins championships. You don't win a ring having a bottom ten run defense that can't get the opposing team off the field.

Seems you can't win giving up the 2nd least points in the divisional round in the playoffs either.
