They only needed to add a second bye week to, say, week 15. Then you have an empty slot to move cancelled games to.

With more teams in the future testing positive for the Rona. This won’t be the only games pushed out towards the end of the season.

Why not take a full season break for all teams around mid season to give everyone time to 14 days quarantine to flatten the curve among the teams?

Because hardly anyone follows the "quarantine" guidelines.

It’s more about perception than anything.

But if you can get the league to suspend play at mid season. It can perceived that they are flattening the curve amongst the teams and league.

Then we the second half starts everyone should be clear and free to proceed on.

Pushing it back isn't tenable for the teams in the playoffs. You could have playoff teams that haven't suffered an outbreak sitting for more than 2 weeks with no games. The reschedules have to be worked into the existing schedule as much as is possible.

Adding games at the end of the year could theoretically give SEVERAL teams an advantage or disadvantage. That can't happen.

This can't happen either. Somebody would lose (or even gain) home games by moving venues.

And then when a team in the playoffs gets a case. Then what? You’re 1 seed gets a suspected case. That team has been sitting for 2 weeks already? Now what?

You could of flattened the curve and got a head of this at mid season. Now we’re deep into flu season and we’re gonna have to postpone playoff games?

Yeah, a playoff team getting sick makes it even worse.

They simply can't add games at the end of the season for some teams and not others.

If they start having to move multiple games then they're going to have to move games for NON-infected teams just to keep the schedule balanced.

This is just the reality of trying to play a sport like football in a pandemic. If you're going to try it, you're going to have to deal with things like this and the potential of having a messy season. Or put everyone in a bubble like the NBA.

Would seem easy enough to do. It's not like the NBA where it just drags on forever with a million teams. Every week you've got a major cutdown happening.

Disneyworld in Orlando was chosen as the NBA's "Bubble" because they're one of the very few complexes in this country that can support approximately 5,000 people through hotel rooms, condos, timeshares and restaurants on their property.

Now that Kroenke World is up and running, Los Angeles would be able to support 12 playoff teams, as could Las Vegas (although I seriously doubt Vegas would meet ownership approval). Miami could probably pull it off but I seriously doubt that Tampa could host 12 teams. The broadcast crews wouldn't be small, either, and would need to be taken into consideration.

Then, there's the whole negotiation with the NFLPA, the player's families, extended families and so on.

At this point, it might not even matter where the Super Bowl is held because that city isn't going to receive the usual economic impact that the game brings to the host city each year.
