What did we learn? Week 2

Mahomes doesnt need to leave the pocket and can still throw for 400 yards

Brendan Daly was our biggest off season acquisition. Tanoh made a nice play on a run and had a sack. Emmanuel Ogbah through 2 games has quietly been our best defensive end.

Spags unlike Sutton can make adjustments

Breeland will get burnt like Nelson but unlike Nelson can make a play on the ball. That red zone pick was awesome.

DeMarcus Robsinon could be a #2 WR on some NFL teams

Blake Bells pass blocking help out Erving was underappreciated

This team can take a punch

Not like yesterday where they get demolished for 10 minutes and then allow nothing for three quarters. Sutton defenses did not adjust like that. Ever. Either his game plan worked, or it didn't. And usually it didn't.

Idk. Sutton was here for like 6 seasons. I feel like if I went back through all the games I could find a few that were similar.

We really only looked like shit for two drives. I feel like that happened often with Sutton too, though over time his defenses definitely proved to be much more bend-y.

I think you would find that his defenses actually tended to start good early, and then get demolished during the rest of the game. And not even garbage time scores like the Jax game, just consistently letting teams score throughout the last 30-45 minutes of games.

Mahomes was a big part of yesterday, though. He ended that game before halftime, and everybody knew it, on both teams. But the defense definitely did their part, despite giving up the one big run after halftime. Those picks were both big. Mahomes, though, has an impact on the entire game like nobody else.

I’m slowly coming around to the philosophy that the best defense is a good offense. Obviously your defense needs to be able to make stops on their own, especially in crunch time, but Pat just has this ability to apply so much pressure to the opposing team. We’ve made so many teams have to abandon the run by midway through the third quarter. We’re essentially dictating their play calling for an entire half at times.

I'll hope for full health of both teams and no cheating from either team or the NFL refs.

Yep, I liked Romo and Nantz a lot.

If it would have been FOuts and Eagle again- we would not have known the Chiefs were even playing.

Romo did start talking about New England for a spell because the Faders were so boring to watch. People just love the Pats.

I learned that we have a defense that can make adjustments.

Faders were still running the ball on their last possession. They burned off like 45 seconds on one run.

We should have put up 40 on these guys. I think the Chiefs got bored the second half and lacked focus.

This right here is the difference between Spags and Old Man Sutton. The D adjusted to the quick passing game and shut Oakland down, Old Man Sutton would have just stood there like a deer in the headlights as the Raiders went up by 14.
