Why not just bring spags as a consultant? It's not like he's got a lot of options at this point. I wouldn't be excited about him completely running the defense. But id love to see him paired with a young defensive mind who can push him to innovate. Seems like a good way to bring in a fresh face without dealing with the risk of grooming them as an apprentice.
