Wait a minute. He was sentenced to 3 years, he did 2 years and is on house arrest for 1? Nobody does their full sentence anymore. A lot of people get out before they even do 2/3 of their sentence.

Executive prerogative. It just means he has been “punished enough” via incarceration. This happened 2 years ago? So he shaved off 1 year of incarceration. To be pedantic, it's more like served 1.5 years and now house arrest for 1.5 years (sentenced to 3 years in November 2022). But yes, you've got the gist correct.
