An electromagnetic pulse (commonly abbreviated EMP) just hit the USA

Grab the old Chevy at work, put the battery back in, change the starter if needed. Hook up the trailer, which has 2 generaotors and 10 gallons of gas. Load up my guns, survival gear, clothes, food and head to the little town I lived in before moving here. I have tons of friends there, 3 rivers originate there, tons of game and catlle, and two Hutterite colonies raising their own food. Its a pretty tight-knit community.

90 miles on back roads. A little shorter if you use a short piece of interstate, which I'd avoid.

Don't know that you could get that far, people would probably be shooting at you from the woods.

You must be assuming I'm waiting for all the big city folk to head this way before I bug out.

Central Montana is void of people to begin with. Plus, Montana is the 4th largest state with the third smallest population.

Also, the people around here are used to being without power for extended periods of time. Most are plenty self-sufficient for a few weeks. They aren't going to worry about my sorry ass.

We just drove a 45 mile stretch of Hwy 191 and only saw one car.
