Terrible.

If I were his piano teacher, I'd tell him to quit playing flat-wristed. He's got a ton of shoulder tension, too. The dude probably is terrible at his scales outside of the ones that fit the hand well like B and E major.

He's really got to get more of an elastic elbow. He has absolutely no power to his sound. He's playing from the base instead of allowing his weight to distribute sound into the right hand and the melody.

I could also dig at his improvisational choices, but that would take too much time.

If I had to guess and kinda just simplify that critique... I would say that his flaws are a mix of being too strong and knowing it - therefore artificially altering his stroke, trying to be delicate/fancy and coming off stiff - and he probably hasn't regularly practiced in a looong time.

Anyway...

Because I'd say it's a pretty safe assumption to predict that a guy that hardly ever dropped into coverage is going to struggle dropping back to cover NFL caliber receivers.

Houston got beat pretty badly in coverage as a rookie.

I would read an entire blog of SNR breaking down athletes' musical capabilities like draft scouting reports.

I agree-loved the interviews with him so far. I think we got a great player.

I have to admit, I have concerns about the Dee Ford pick.

He is a 1 trick pony (speed rusher) with short arms. The Waldo rushing formula shows he is a high risk of failure, and I would agree. I hope he succeeds nonetheless.

So Ford and Clowney are "high risk" but Scott freaking Crichton is "med-low risk"?
