Gladiator 2018 - Round 4, Match 1 - Why Not? versus TLO
We're down to the Elite Eight - the toughest and/or luckiest warriors on the planet.

Vote for the person that you think would win this match in a battle to death or submission. As background, assume that prior to the tournament you received 10 minutes of training on every weapon. The time listed is the amount of time before the match where you learn what the weaponry and venue is. All participants are handed their weapons at t=0 unless stated otherwise.

Venue - Across the road from each other on a moderately busy two-lane state highway.
Starting Distance - 52 feet

Why Not?

Main Weapon - Pilgrim-style blunderbuss with supplies for three shots (first shot is loaded)
Backup Weapon - None

Prep Time - 8 Minutes
Special Factors - You have been blood doping in anticipation of the fight (boosting your red blood cell count for higher endurance)

TLO

Main Weapon - Native American bow and 6 arrows
Backup Weapon - Shiv fashioned from a toothbrush and a wooden chair leg

Prep Time - 7 Minutes
Special Factors - None

Lots of random factors determine this one for me.

I'm going with the scenario that why not waits for traffic and bum rushes TLO with the blunderbuss. Chances are even if he takes an arrow it's non fatal and the blood doping keeps him going while he gets in range for a shot with the ye olde trash cannon.

As long as I can keep my distance from him until I can lure him in to firing the first shot, this is an easy win. I'm likely not going to be able to land a fatal shot with the bow and arrow, but I can use it as a zoning tool to keep some distance.

Once he fires the first shot, he's not getting a chance to reload. I run in with the shiv and claim victory.

The special factor tells me Why Not would actually get all three shots because he can take a shot and then run far away (because of his artificial endurance) and reload.
