NFL Rumors: Mahomes, Watson atop KC's QB wish list

From SportingNews.com:

http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news...j17r8odsobcbca

Quote:
— The Chiefs, who have been linked to most quarterbacks during the 2017 NFL Draft process so far, are in no rush to find a quarterback savior. With Alex Smith slated to be the starter in 2017 but ideally not in 2018, the Chiefs are looking for a passer with the highest upside without needing him to play as a rookie — a dream scenario for a quarterback prospect.

— I believe Patrick Mahomes is the Chiefs' QB1 from what I’ve heard, but Deshaun Watson makes sense as well. They’ll need to trade up for both. If they stay at 27, the one quarterback whom they could shockingly have interest in is Davis Webb of California. They’ve also shown interest in Nathan Peterman and Brad Kaaya, but likely don’t value either as top-two rounders.
Now, the writer of this got all of his info in the article from speaking to FO people and scouts at the combine. You can question the validity, but the Chiefs did meet with all of the players mentioned at the combine.

If this report is accurate, the Chiefs could indeed be on the path to Patrick Mahomes or Deshaun Watson holding up their jersey in 7 weeks in Philadelphia.

That's what we are set up for right now.
Nah they won because of his elite play. Imagine the Superbowl the chiefs could have won with a QB who could average 174 yards and 1 TD a game.

Yep. They weren't paying a broke dick 17 mil to throw for less than 1 td per game.

Houston had more sacks than Alex had touchdown passes in 14. How sad is that?

FYP

and if you will watch 2017 KC football... you will suck on that Ass for at least one more year... too bad for you. Could be too bad for all of us.. but at least some can expect to enjoy winning/competitive football for much of the year.

Look, I don't think Alex is great, and am coming around to him never stepping up enough to make up for other KC deficiencies. That would take a very special QB. That said, the decisions are out of our hands.. and I for one refuse to be a sniveling bitch about the team all year long, as I wait for this QBotF.

It's your call on how you deal with it. Shrug, watch, and take whatever good comes from it.. or pout in the corner all year.. like a sniveling bitch.

Want to know the difference between me and you guys? I admit Smith had a bad game.... You guys are doing mental gymnastics trying to justify a QB throwing for 129 yards and 4 interceptions in 4 quarters and averaging 174 yards in a playoff run.

I said "maybe" to all of that. I didn't say it would or should happen.

What to claim that's a cop out? It's just as valid as you saying Alex Smith is just as good as Ben Roethlisberger in the playoffs (and possibly better), but then claiming you're not defending Alex's putrid performances for us as a QB.

It goes back to style of play. You're the one using stats to justify this bullshit, when it reality it simply comes down to the fact that Alex plays scared and always has plays scared. The only thing that's going to change is he's going to play even more scared as he ages. Unless the opposing QB is a piece of flaming AIDS shit or he gets a nice soft D to dink and dunk on like the Saints, he will always be a terrible playoff QB. The Chiefs haven't been getting the job done like they should in the playoffs mostly because of him.

Russell Wilson and Ben Roethlisberger are gamers. You put them in that Andy Reid offense with all of the other same factors, and they would both win that Pittsburgh game. Alex lost it. They would win it. Because they're not ****ing afraid.

If Alex had even 1/4 of the balls that his stupid cult possesses, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

How would they have won it? It takes Lynch having great games for the Seahawks to win so how would that translate here?

You can say gamer all you want but that doesn't mean it means anything. You're not a gamer because you throw 4 interceptions but because of your all time defense and running back, you get a chance to redeem yourself in overtime. That's not how it works.

Wilson only has a superbowl because he can throw for 103 ****ing yards and still win because marshawn Lynch rushes for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns and the defense holds Drew ****ing Brees to 15 points.

Do the chiefs stand a chance winning any game much less a playoff game if Alex Smith only throws for 103 yards? Guess that doesn't make him a gamer.

Seahawks won because of a great run game, a very smart game manager, and a world class elite defense. Saying otherwise is just stupid.

Guys like Wilson, Prescott, Elway, and Aikman are going to be winning more rings at their rate playing on teams with a well-balanced offense compared to the other guys like Rodgers/Brees/Peyton/Young/Marino/Favre who usually have just a strong passing game.

Matt Ryan couldn't take his game to the next level until he had a 2 headed monster at RB with Coleman and Freeman. Just look at how his productivity skyrocketed by throwing dump off passes.

What? Mahomes at the KC airport. I will say this much for this draft talk. I can't remember the last time the media really thought the we would take a qb early. It's been a very long time.

I agree but Smith may as well be over. Mahomes could throw more than 15 tds with the players we have. No to mention getting the ball handed to him with takeaways.

Which is why I don't want him. I don't get why people hate Smith but yet are okay with drafting a 2 year project QB. That's the exact reason I don't want him. I don't want Smith past this upcoming season. I want a QB that will be ready to start the 2018 season.
