Realtor recommendations

Wasn't exactly enamored with the last person I used. Anyone on here have a great experience they wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks.

Looking for a home around 160-180k in Johnson County, KS or on the edge of a bordering county. Don't really mind if it needs some work (foreclosure) because I can do some of it.

Wait, you said $160K-180 in JO CO?. If you expect service, you don't need a Realtor, you need a magician.

There's a great selection in P.V. There is a teardown for $175K or would you like something with 1000SF that's 30 feet off a busy 4 lane road with a circular drive.

Should we look into the Mission, Merriam, Roeland Park outskirts? There are some nice 800sf , 2 bedrooms under $180K

I never said you couldn't find anything, I said you will need a magician. Every Realtor's office has a formative list of investors wanting to buy quality, affordable, value based properties in JOCO. Why market a house, pay MLS fees and marketing expenses when you can call and have buyers standing in line to buy them? In the $180K market Realtors don't put forth much effort (either as a listing or a seller's agent) but there are exceptions. A hungry Realtor is a good thing in your scenario.

Good luck. I think home ownership is a great thing and wish you luck finding something you will be happy with.

If you are trying to find something decent, my experience is that a Realtor is not the answer, you're going to have to do the hard work and find it yourself.

I also think you will need to spend $200K for a fixer upper in able to get a 2 car garage, a real master bedroom, and family room/den area. There are unique properties but overall these homes priced below market have some sort of issues. Issues which make them harder to get financed unless you come loaded with cash and credit. Finding a house yourself, bringing your own financing will get you one of these for under your budget, but not while utilizing the services of a Realtor.

I was surprised to see this appear on the landscape again. I bet it
is a foreclosure in process and there are serious issues with the property and or sellers ability to close. It's the worst location in the area (corner 103 and Lamar with the driveway just feet from the intersection and could have been bought for $10K less a few months back.

These houses about $200K that need updating.
