The Group 'Chicago' otherwise known as "Chicago Transit Authority" in their early days headlined for Hendrix for awhile. Jimi said Terry was better than he was. Here is the Tanglewood concert from 1970 specifically the tune 25 or 6 to 4 where Kath absolutely is shredding it out of this world. I know many of you know this story already but to see what Hendrix was talking about and being able to catch this amazing solo on video at the time was very fortunate. Enjoy !!

Also, I've posted this before, but listen all the way through. One of the best sustained bass lines in history.

THEN pay particular attention to what Louis on bass and Ernie on sax are doing at 5:25 on. It's as close to heaven as funk gets.

Louis is also the bass you hear on just about every Michael Jackson song you've ever loved.

Jimi was not only modest, but he championed many players he dug to the press. A decent sort, by most accounts, that Hendrix fellow.

In that Netflix doc, in the last pic Kath took with his daughter, he's wearing a bad ass KC Chiefs shirt.

Just wanted to point out...Kath was a Chiefs fan.
