Veach is 10x better at what he does than you would ever be, and your constant pretending otherwise is laughable.
Oh I'm easily as smart as I think I am. You just aren't privy to how smart I think that is.

But do I have the resources and experience that Veach does in this field? Nope. Do I expect I'd be a better GM than he is? Nope.

But your hero is the same guy that traded up for Breeland Speaks. Who used a first rounder on a completely fungible RB. Who has one pick on his entire ledger that has worked out (kinda) that I didn't like - Kareem Hunt. And my biggest problem with Hunt was that I thought K-Pass should've been Kamara, so I have a hard time taking too big an L there.

The rest are picks I either thought were good picks or was indifferent towards.

He's not infallible, ace.

Never said he was. Actually, already acknowledged with you earlier in this thread that he wasn’t.

“My hero” is the same guy that brought us a SB, in the same season where you were literally calling for him to be fired because you got your panties in a bunch.

So forgive me for having more faith in Veach than one of CPs best.

If next year comes around and they don’t, then I’ll be right there with you.
Unless he doesn't. Then you'll find some other way to hand-waive it.

Good thing he had Kelce, Hill, Schwartz, Fisher, Morse, Jones, Mahomes et al on the roster when he took over, eh?

Or are we going to keep pretending like Frank Clark's coverage sacks were what drove that playoff run?

I have not been tracking the thread at all.

But have we targeted any DEs left on the market or for trade that might work? Ebaukam in SF? Quinn in Chicago?

Bash Frank Clark today all you want, but your inability to give him his credit for his role in that SB run goes to show how strong your bias is against him.

You could just admit how ****ing dumb your fire Veach rants were, but here you are doubling down. We all say dumb shit. We post here too much not to.

Perfect example of what I mean when I say you aren’t as smart as you think you are.

And just to be clear, there’s a reason I declared you the shark and O.city the “remora”, and just referred to you as one of CPs best.

I’m trying to show respect for you at the same time. So don’t get it twisted.

Funny how Chris Jones hasn't managed to get a coverage sack in a single playoff game in four years. I mean, they're so easy to get that I'm assuming he must just be turning them down out of principle.

I have often conceded that any post I make with exclamation points in it is not among my most measured or well thought out efforts. And that Veach, as stated in this very thread, is in the top tier of NFL GMs.

You need something notarized and written in triplicate?

Your issue typically seems to be that any concessions I'm inclined to make aren't in the tone you would like me to make them. I'm sorry if I don't genuflect deeply enough for you.

But again - I've known me for a really long time and I can assure you there is no greater expert on me than me. Do I think I could run a baseball team? Oh yeah, I actually think I could. I'd need a strong 2nd in command to deal with the administrative shit while I got my feet under me, but I have no doubt at all I could do it and do it well in time - baseball is my jam and I know shit there.

A football team? Oh hell no. Never claimed I could. I've said that I think the combined wisdom of maybe the top 10 guys 'round here could put something moderately competitive together before we decided to let Hootie have our routing number and ended up having our bankroll plundered on bad DFS gambles. But that's about the extent of it.

But I am not going to substitute someone else's judgment for my own unless I'm completely out of my depth. I ain't out of my depth here. Is Veach going to be right more often than me? Christ I hope so - it's his damn job. Is he always going to be right and I'm always going to be wrong where we disagree? I'd say the evidence is a resounding 'no' on that front.

Oh, and an obligatory - Frank Clark ****ing Sucks. Just for funsies.

Fair enough. I love ya DJ. I just wanted to take a shot at O.city because he’s a little outstanding citizen. Sorry that it turned into me vs. you.

That's all right. These things gotta happen every five years or so, ten years. Helps to get rid of the bad blood. Been ten years since the last one. You know, you gotta stop them at the beginning. Like they should have stopped Hitler at Munich, they should never let him get away with that, they was just asking for trouble.

Like I said yesterday, you do this every day with people. The very next day, and here you are at it again. It's pretty funny actually.
At least you can admit it, apologize for it, and move on.
