Drafting a Center

The Chiefs probably need to draft a center this year. Looks like a pretty short list of guys and the top 4 guys are probably all going in the 2nd and 3rd round.

Would it be acceptable to wait and get a guy like Jackson in the 5th, or are we obligated to spend one of our top 3 picks on a center? Is there anybody I'm missing? Or do we really have only 2 chances (pick 63 and pick 94) to come up with somebody?

Creed Humphrey
Landon Dickerson
Josh Myers
Quinn Meinerz
Trey Hill
Drake Jackson

A lot of people around here are high on Quinn Meinerz, but that may be more as a guard than a center. Creed Humphrey is probably the only other name I'd be excited about, maybe Dickerson?

I'll admit I know little of the center position in this year's draft, other than draftniks are saying it's down year for an impact center.

I'd add Robert Hainsey from Notre Dame to the list. He played RT for the Irish but they worked him at OG and OC at the Senior Bowl and he looked really good at Center. I'm guessing around 4.

Michal Menet from Penn State is a guy that's just rock solid. He's probably never going to be a star, just a reliable starter. Looks like a guy to pick up in the late 4th/5th.

Myers would be my top dog but he probably doesn't make it to 61.
