Given the respective eras, how impressive is Marino's 1984 season?

Every time I've seen a stat line from his 1984 year, that has to be the best season a QB has ever had. Back then they could play defense too.

Statistically speaking, I think Aaron Rodgers' 2011 season was the best in history. He threw 45 TDs and only 6 INTs in just 15 games. If you remember, that was the year he sat out week 17 and Matt Flynn threw 6 TDs. Had Rodgers played, he likely would have ended the year with 50+ TDs.

Marino's 1984 season, Brady in 2007 and Manning in 2013 are all incredible as well.

Between their helmets and their stupid cheer song, I've feared scarier middle school teams.
