Checking in on the Young Guns: The QB's
The discussion on Josh Allen got me thinking about the young QB's in the league and what everyone thinks about 1)where they are and 2)what they'll be.
For discussion's sake, lets say 2016 draft on. If we included the 2015 draft, we'd be including like Jameis Winston, and I just kind of feel like that's the cut-off at which I consider that age to be veteran now and not still developing in any way. So we're talking about these guys: 2016- Jared Goff-I think he's a system guy. Nice measurables, not a gutsy leader-type. You can win with that guy, but you won't win BECAUSE of that guy. Carson Wentz-pretty much the same as Goff. Dak Prescott-a very poor man's Russell Wilson. You can win WITH him, but not BECAUSE of him. I think he's overrated. 2017- Trubisky-what a sham. 'Most NFL ready'. My ass. He's mentally soft. BUST. Mahomes-a generational talent, what a steal. Watson-One of those guys that's better than his physical talent says he should be. Gusty, tough, a winner. I thought he'd bust, but I think I was wrong. 2018- Mayfield-regressed this year but the whole coaching staff is shite. I still expect Baker to bounce back. Jackson-man, another one I was wrong on. I still don't think it's sustainable long term, but until his knees give out, he's damned dangerous. Josh Allen-I know a lot of y'all think he's a bum; I see inconsistency due to some iffy fundamentals, i.e. footwork, etc. I think he's got as much raw ability as anyone. We'll see. Josh Rosen-two teams gave up on him. I think he's a bust. I think Andy could salvage him if he wants to come sit behind Patrick. Sam Darnold-This is my 'Josh Allen' in that I don't see a single ****ing thing about Darnold that says 'NFL QB'. I think he's a bum, and a big old bust. 2019- Kyler Murray-man, maybe? I don't know. The interviews pre-draft were so bad I really couldn't see him as a leader of men. Nice athlete. I think he'll tease for a couple of years, but I don't see a star in the NFL there. Gardner Minshew-You know, I have a soft spot for the scrappy guys that nobody wanted. He appears to be game-smart, pretty accurate, and the kind of guy people rally around. We'll see, but I think he's a serviceable NFL QB there and JAX hasn't really had that in...well...ever. What do you guys think? Am I missing anyone? |

In the one game I watched, Kyler a Murray was VERY underwhelming... not sold on him at all

Future HOF QB:
1. Mahomes Great: 1. Jackson Really good: 1. Watson 2. Wentz (but injury prone) Could be good: 1. Darnold 2. Murray The rest are either meh and I wouldn’t want to give them a second contract or trash. |

Jackson great, but for how long? I doubt more than maybe 2021.
Watson I agree. I would bet that in time, he'll have a greater career than Jackson due to longetivity. Wentz? well I agree on the injury prone. Darnold I don't see it. I think he's trash. Murray, I seriously doubt. Allen and Mayfield I still expect will be good. |

as for my "ability to evaluate QB's"
well...I'm a guitar player, man. And an engineer/producer. I'm a fan, like everyone else. The two QB's I remember beating on the table to draft that we might actually have a shot to draft were: Drew Brees Russell Wilson So, I see some things. I'm sure there are things I don't. |

Wentz is the closest thing to Pat right now. 79/21 TD/INT ratio last 3 years. Also playing with no WR’s this year by oc injury and suck (Agholor!!!).
Watson is also really good despite what CP thinks. Lamar is the flavor of the month

It was a totally meaningless snap, but did anybody not love Moore running onto the field like a little kid to take the final snap to celebrate his starter winning the game? |

The problem in Cleveland is NOT Baker Mayfield.
I know a lot of you guys hate him (cuz OKLAHOMA) but the problem there is that Kitchens is sharting down his leg every Sunday and looking around wondering where that smell is coming from. |
