2019 Free agency Thread

We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

I don't have a problem with Collins. He's a really good box safety.

But i'm not into paying him what he's gonna get on the open market to play that.

We don't know yet because nothing has been said about it.

Earl Thomas on the other hand has publicly stated that he isn't giving discounts and wants $15 million per season.

I'd rather pay Thomas that, than pay Collins 13 or 14.

You realize Berry has been playing FS for years now, and played it mostly last season too right?

I'm happy with either. But Thomas is older and is a bigger injury risk.

Eh, broken bones don't scare me as much as the other stuff, but it's definitely a concern.

As we've learned the hard way, injuries can happen to anyone.

Uh what? 90% of those posts are caling the Giants idiots, you ****ing reerun.

Yeah, there’s gonna be a section of the fanbase that agrees with the move, but it’s not a large one. Every Giants fan I’ve interacted with personally has been unhappy with the move.

They are calling the Giants idiots because they got nothing in return for him. He's a box safety with average coverage skills.

Berry and Collins are redundant players.

If you're gonna keep Berry, find someone to play more in coverage. If you want Collins, cut Berry and draft someone else.

If Berry is healthy and can play this year he can play FS.

If he's not healthy we need to reach an injury settlement with him (or cut him if possible.)

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Yep. Berry used to be able to play both but not anymore. He's a SS only and that is only if he's healthy.
