What did you get for Christmas?

Here in the Runkc household, I got a Samsung soundbar+ subwoofer for my new TV I got during Black Friday.

Pretty great gift! Currently watching one of my favorite action movies (Skyfall) and couldn’t be happier.

What was your favorite gift?

I had mine before I bought my M20 Milwaukee gear or I would have bought their bare impact, still might. The M20 has more removal torque but not as strong on knock off.

I bought a couple of green no name DC 12V corded impacts back at what is now Cummins Tools on 291 back when I was redoing houses in Fort Osage area and keep one of those in the daily drivers. They put out about 230-250 as I recall.

I raise holy ****ing hell if an impact goes anywhere near my wheels other than to loosen the nuts. Just like you I've had nuts that wouldn't budge (using the above) on steel wheels and it's always at 3 am on a rain/ snowy night with passengers.
95% of my shop tools are Snap-On, but I cannot justify buying one of their cordless impacts man, it is just too much money. I love the Milwaukee ones, but they are still quite a bit of cash too. I have only Snap on stuff at work, but all my home stuff is Blue point and Craftsman. I owe Snap On zero dollars, all my stuff is paid for. I have bought it piece by piece and sale by sale. However, all that to say, I would love to have the cash to buy one.

I'm 47 with 2 kids. 11 and 10. My wife and I load the kids up. That's what it's all about. The 11 year old is on the fence about Santa and the Elf on the Shelf. The 10 year old completely buys in. That makes it fun. I know parents who tell kids otherwise and I don't understand it. Let them enjoy the magic as long as they can. Life will get its hold on them soon enough.

The best gift I got was a "Potato Smasher" from my 10 year old son. He picked it out all by himself at the Ginger Bread House at his elementary school. It doesn't get any better than that.

I got a few other things. Including:

- 2017 Mint Coin Set
- Replica Len Dawson Super Bowl Ring
- Clothes for work
- Some marinades
- Hot sauces

**EDIT**
This year we were able to give my Mom and Dad a new 55" TV and a sound bar. Seeing their reaction was more fun than anything they could have given me.

I agree completely with your first statement, let them enjoy it as long as possible, plus it makes it a lot more fun as a parent (I would imagine, mine is only 2). On your last paragraph, that is freaking awesome man. This year, I paid for my parents garage door to be fixed (Mom ran her car into it, long story), and I paid for them to get a garage door opener installed. Cost me a ton, the garage door panels were special order only, and the opener with installation was $400, but their gratefulness and excitement made it worth every penny.

She'd wait until after the trip to the big town though, right?
