Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Mike Smith was relieved of his duties Monday, Oct. 15.

Smith's defense has been struggling for over a year and the Bucs had seen enough. The Bucs are 31st in the league with an average of 439.8 yards of offense allowed per game in 2018. Mark Duffner is set to take over as the defensive coordinator.

At what point do you say enough and just try something different, as in a new coach. Sutton has been here for how long and it's just going down hill.

You can blame personnel, and that's fair. However as a coach, it's your job to adapt and game plan for your strengths and weaknesses. It seems Sutton is so set in his ways and he refuses to do this.

Can it really get much worse than the current pace to break records for yards given up?

Cincinatti sent the house against Pittsburgh and gave up the game winning touchdown. Every talking head on all 3 networks was talking about how stupid Cincinatti was.

That part of this discussion isn't black and white. We could literally go back and forth on this for hours. There is no concrete right or wrong answer.

That being said, this defense is not only the worst in the NFL, it's the worst in team history. This isn't a 1-5 team, it's a 5-1 team. That DEMANDS action. Bob Sutton MUST be fired.

They replaced him with Mark Duffner, who in his one stint as an NFL DC, coordinated the 32nd-ranked defense in the league.

It's not only still bad, it's WORSE.

Sutton has to go. It's the only course of action left that offers any hope at all.

Not only did they dedicate an entire draft to it.....but two of those players are the only ones getting snaps right now. And it's only because Houston and KPass are hurt.
