I'm eliminating Fautanu as a realistic possibility. He would be choice 1 though IF he were there.

I see no reason whatsoever to draft an RT in this class. Everyone has their opinions but mine is you can throw Latham, Fuaga, Guyton, and Mims into that bag. I'm not especially interested with Taylor on board.

Thomas is the only WR I'm considering moving up for and I wouldn't want to use a 1st or 2nd from next year's draft to do it because I think the LT class next year has a chance to be better. I don't think the overall OT class is better, just so we're straight.

This team doesn't have a ton of needs but an elite weapon for this year would be a huge boost to the chances of a 3-peat, especially with the Rice situation and how that could play out. We can dick the dog and sign Donovan Smith again.
I agree with all this, although I probably wouldn't move up for Thomas. If we get Donovan Smith back I'd almost certainly wait it out and get a WR at 32. There's a lot of RTs floating around that I'm not particularly interested in gambling on switching to LT.

I think the price to move up for a genuine LT stud is going to be too high and burn through draft capital we need to sort some sneaky needs this year and next.

Giving you my first 3 picks since I'm trading away the 2nd rounder.

Going against all I believe in to get Pat a "hyper-elite" weapon.
I pulled the trade off with Seattle giving up 32, 2024, and Tennesee 3rd in 2024. Both clocked in at 1931 points.

perfect.

Yeah - there's just no way in the world I'm moving up to 16 for Brian Thomas. None.

Like you, I might take him at 32, but I'm not giving up a 2nd and then some to get up to 16 and grab him.

Might take him at 32 lol?

If he somehow, some way fell to 32 that pick should be in to the commish in 1.3 seconds…IDGAF who’s on the board.

{shrug}

He's my WR4 in this draft but I'm really not that gung-ho about a first round WR.

It was more a statement as to how I'm not married to the position than the player. And as Crow noted - he ain't gonna be there at 32.

Gotta say it's probably not the route I'd go either crow. BTJ at that cost doesn't seem worth it to me. I mean I could see it being worth it but like Nightfyre I've got too many questions at this point. Definitely a bold move!

I'll offer an alternative BTJ trade for consideration:

#32 + #94 + 2025 3rd = #21 from MIA

Also spending #171 to move up in the 4th.

1. WR Brian Thomas Jr
2. RB Jonathan Brooks
3. {Traded}
4. DT T'Vondre Sweat

2 toys for Pat and 1 massive dbl team eater for Chris.

Hyper-Elite!

I just can’t see going up for a WR in this draft. For a LT, yes, sure.

Just too much depth.

Agreed.

Mine, based on us standing pat at our picks...

1) Tyler Guyton, OT - Oklahoma
- I really, REALLY want to take one of Mitchell, Franklin, or McConkey here. But, I also really understand the demand to protect the franchise at all costs, as well. Give me a potential future LT here.

2) Devontez Walker, WR - North Carolina
- Tez seems somewhat of a Rice clone physically, but his vertical game would be perfect lined up across from Rice and his ability to work the middle of the field.

3) Trey Benson, RB - Florida State
- I could go any number of directions here, but loading up on offense is the way to go this season. Benson could be a redundant pick with the rugby kid here to allegedly return kicks and MEH returning, but Benson does have a good combo of size, power and speed. I wouldn't be against a tight end with this pick, even if I'm good with Kelce, Gray, and Irv Smith as our group.

Not liking ignoring WR again but I love Benson. And Pacheco backup is a sneaky bigger need than most want to acknowledge.

Drafting a WR in the 2nd for the second year in a row is "ignoring WR again"?

I'm not going to go back and forth with you in this thread, but this is exactly why people are so over your shit.

It depends what your goal is.

If you just want to check a box and say you took a WR, even after 10 other teams took one then sure, the position was addressed.

Of course you are upset because you get very emotional and have a hard time arguing your views with fact and logic.

Like I said, if one of those three is sitting there at our pick, it's going to be really hard to pass them up. It becomes a matter of if they think Guyton has more value at his position than one of those three, obviously.

I feel like with Hollywood signed that receiver may not be the call in the 1st. Tackle and receiver will be our first two picks, maybe not in that order, but I feel confident thinking that way.

I was thinking of doing a mock yesterday and I had Guyton and Walker in mind 1/2. Both really high ceilings guys.

Walker’s drops scare me though

I like that a lot and would be considering/interesting in moving up in round 4 to grab Jermaine Burton at WR, too.

I know he's kind of a shithead, but the talent and profile would fit so well.
