They're not acceptable examples. You make a very valid point if you consider box office and critical/audience reception separately. What you're not getting is this movie is both making a bunch of money AND is well regarded by critics and audiences alike. That's a perfect combo and means there will be more to come, which is what I said when stating they were trying to turn the franchise like Bond, where the character is more important than the actor. You said they failed. You're wrong. It happens to the best of us.

This is the absolute most INSANE thrill ride I've probably ever watched.
Non stop pedal to the metal action and its all beautifully shot, color me very very impressed... and my buddy says they've already agreed to a sequel 5 of 5 stars, worth every single penny. |
