Reid coached DeSean Jackson for four years in Philadelphia. He was a pro-bowler for two of those seasons.

Xavier Worthy weighs about what DeSean Jackson weighed coming into the league.

I'm not saying it isn't concerning, but it has been noted he played at closer to 175 and his tape doesn't show any drop off in burst and explosion (game speed).

At 32 you are basically a second round pick. Worthy had 26 touchdowns in 3 years. McConkey had 14.

Worthy can also create separation in tight spaces. He would be a threat for us in the redzone once we get inside the ten. He had a number of touchdowns inside the twenty where he instantly created separation for an easy 6.

Things could change depending on free agency, but as it stands right this minute, Worthy, depending on his ability to learn and assimilate the offense, would be the single biggest positive addition WR the Chiefs could take.

His elite attributes are blinding speed and ball tracking. Just imagine all of the bombs Mahomes was unable to connect on with MVS and Hardman. Now imagine Worthy just catching those. How different is the offense, with no other changes? Pretty different.

I don't think that Worthy is as shifty underneath as Tank and the fact that he only produced 6 deep balls all season last year concerns me.

I'm skeptical, currently.

Mitchell was more a factor in the offense this past season. Worthy had 12 TD's in 2021 and plenty of long ones.

I agree, especially at 32, I think he fits us well. I really want an OT that we can plug in for 10 years, but that seems incredibly unlikely unless someone loses their senses over Sneed's value and offers us a 1st or really low 2nd (which we could use on someone like the big BYU tackle who might fall to the 2nd).

Adding Worthy's explosiveness at 32 also doesn't preclude us from getting another WR with a different skill set (size) in later rounds or FA.

Probably no other team that would take advantage of his skill set better than our Chiefs.

Have you seen how many times Texas' QB would underthrow Worthy? Imagine Mahomes being able to actually chuck it up and let Worthy run under it like Tyreek did.

I was pretty skeptical until i watched that 53 min video i linked in the WR thread. His QB(s) overthrew him quite a bit when he had his man beat by yards. That video gives a much more complete picture of him and i'd advise setting aside some time to watch.

I agree that he's not "shifty" per se, like a KT. But he's got more wiggle than a Hardman. And the ball tracking isn't even remotely similar to Hardman. He's fantastic with that over the shoulder deep ball.
