What if Dallas is trying to Tank for Trevor?

I mean if you go to http://www.tankathon.com/nfl The Cowboys are 2-5. What wins do you see projected for them for the rest of the year? They Play Washington, The Giants, Cinci and Minnesota, all teams that currently have a 1-5 record. Do the Jets really come off of Sam Darnold when he was supposed to be really good. If the Cowboys get to the 3rd spot in the draft would they have enough draft picks and other assets to get the Jets out of the #1 pick and grab Trevor Lawrence?

Or stay at #3 and get Justin Fields from Ohio st? Is Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields better then Dak? Are they Cheaper then Dak at 40 million for 4 or 5 years? Can they take that rookie contract money and get Oline help and defensive help where they would be stuck with Dak and his 40 million?

Add in the perspective of "anyone is going to be better than Garrett," and it seemed like a no-brainer, probably.

Hell, I thought it would be an improvement over Garrett. I mean, McCarthy did win a Super Bowl, that should count for something when rating HCs, shouldn't it?
"Marty" McCarthy won a Super Bowl in spite of himself. Thank you Aaron Rodgers.

Possibly. I don't see them getting there though. Seems like the Jets and jags race to lose and they will both want a qb. And Dallas has more than enough talent to pull off some wins and I am certain Mccarthy does not want to lose out. Lots of people already want him fired.

My best friends of 50 years including a few of their Dads are all die hard Cowboys fans and this is the first year they are not watching the games in over 50-60 years.

They thought everything would be great again once Garrett was fired. They were wrong.

Their chances of getting ahead of the Jets is slim and none. But they might be trying to make sure they have a chance at Fields or Lance or a haul of picks if they want to go back to Dak.

This is a mandate from Jerry. He is giving up and off loading. He will attempt to fill holes in off season and the draft. Dak is toast. Dude should have signed a deal. Would not be surprised if they do not win another game.

Much like when we went from Carl and Herm to Pioli and Haley, no matter how bad things are, they can always get worse.

I think the cuts were due. Maybe threaten other players with payloss. Well only borderline players.

Poe seemed to be 30pounds overweight and sucking.

Jerry Jones on why they released Poe:

Link: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...ht-performance

Quote:
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Wednesday evening that the team's release of defensive tackle Dontari Poe was primarily because of Poe's weight and lack of production. Jones declined to say whether Poe's persistence in kneeling for the national anthem before games was a consideration.

"When you're 30 pounds overweight and you're not doing anything about what's keeping you from performing well on the field, there is no reason to get into the other stuff," Jones told ESPN.

The "other stuff" was specific to a question as to whether Poe's being the only Cowboys player to take a knee for the cause of social justice during the national anthem factored in to his release Wednesday.

"I understand your question, and I'm deliberately not going to answer it," Jones replied. "We have a platform here, but the platform on the football field has a high standard, and [Poe] was not up to the standard. He needed to correct that, and he did not. I'm going to leave it at that."

Dude had about a half a million dollars in incentives to watch his weight. I hope he enjoyed all those meals and snacks!

According to a clause in his contract, he had weekly weight incentives ranging from $20,000 to $45,000 that could have totaled $500,000. It's not known how much he collected, if any.

But you don't perform on the field, none of the other stuff matters.....

Wow, can you imagine? A minimum of $20k a week to watch your weight and you can't do it! Hire a personal chef for $1k/week or something.
