He did look good on a few plays but it's all about consistency. Overall he is definitly poor in rush defense.

As for the rush defense in general, I am not worried at all. Williams and Nnadi look like studs and Hitchens and Ragland, regardless of Berri, should make it a strong unit.

I can't keep all of that guy's horrendous predictions in line. At this point, if Clay says something, the exact opposite comes true.

I agree. I had high hopes for Eligwe last year, but I just don't think he gets it. I really like Niemann because he appears to be more NFL ready. One thing that may throw a monkey wrench into the ILB situation is O'Daniel. I know he's behind Hitchens and Smith, but his ability to take on that role Dirty Dan did last year may force us to carry 6 ILBs if you don't want to let go of either Niemann or Eligwe. Davison has shown some flash, but I think he may be destined for the PS.

"JFC," If you're gonna talk, you ought to also be talking about the play that took a TD away...

Problem with this defense is that too many of these guys are just not ready. We've got very few complete players. McQuay impresses me in run support, but is garbage in space. KPass flashes rushing the passer then literally trips over his own feet in coverage. Speaks is a wall, but rarely gets penetration.

On the bright side, the run defense looks like it'll be vastly improved, especially when all of the starters are in. Fuller is impressive.

Also, Amerson is absolute garbage. He'll be this year's Philip Gaines if he's forced into a starting role.. I still can't believe we traded Peters. This defense with Peters and Fuller could potentially have been a top 5 unit.

Also, the defense is still giving up too many 3rd down conversions.

3rd and 4 play at the 9:54 mark in 1st quarter Patrick should have hit Kelce coming out of his break rather than throwing it short to Hill. The protection was definitely good enough to wait for the read. I think they will talk about this in the film room.

Initially I hated that play design. You've got too much happening in such a small area of the field with Watkins, Kelce and Hill all sitting or making breaks within yards of each other.

Perhaps against zone it would work great as a flooding concept, but against man it just creates a jumbled mess.

Who are we replacing Amerson with?

Apparently Scandrick.

The Chiefs like Tremon Smith and Arrion Springs too much for them to get ousted. Fuller and Nelson are the starters. That leaves one spot. Only way Amerson stays aboard is if we keep 6 CBs

I just don't get how Veach went from trying real hard to sign Kyle Fuller to supposedly being interested in trading up for Mike Hughes in the draft to just settling for scraps.

I thought Amerson could be decent but he has not been good.
