Its 2009 all over again, expect the stats keep looking better and better for the first round quarterbacks.

It's going to take at least 2-3 years just for the Panthers to get out of the cap hell that they're in.

Cam might want to think about having a winning season first.

Or at least .500.

if anything, it just further solidifies the opinion by many that the Chiefs have been colossal pussies the last 43 years.

I knew Assweiler was destined for failure and this all but confirms it. Better order extra stem cells for the new season.

Wonder how many of the 32 QB's taken in the first round with losing records were reaches and were not really 1st round talent?

That's hard to say. How do you qualify first round talent? Is it purely physical talent? Because if you're just grading based on physical talent, guys like Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russell are surefire first round talents. So are later picks like Rex Grossman, Kyle Boller, JP Losman and Daunte Culpepper.

Picking a QB, like any position in the draft, is a crapshoot.

But hey, it sure is a good thing the Chiefs didn't reach for Aaron Rodgers, Joe Flacco or Josh Freeman when they picked DJ, Dorsey and Jackson!!!

any QB picked top 10 like Leaf or Russel would go 1st round in any year. Guys with pure physical abilities like that will always go high. Measurables still matter and always will. Why? Because those guys have the highest percentage of success.

guys picked later in the 1st round, like JP losman, Druckenmiller, etc.....its questionable whether they would be a 1st round pick in another year......varies depending on the talent available each year. Some drafts are strong, others very weak.

None of them, obviously. The chiefs haven't drafted a qb in the 1st round since Blackledge.

So you are saying if Matt Cazle was picked in the 1st round we would have gone to the super Bowl already?

Hard to say. Might be interesting to see what the sats are for back-up college TE's playing QB in the NFL. Maybe we should be all over WVU's backup TE instead of Geno.
