Chiefs Should the Chiefs look at S Minkah Fitzpatrick as a CB? - Page 22

So I've come around to the idea that we might need to address the CB situation sooner rather than later.

In that vein, I was wondering what we think of S Minkah Fitzpatrick of the Miami Dolphins.

6' 1" 200 lbs.

2018 stats
80 tackles
9 pass defended
2 INTs

I know, he's listed as a safety. But last year, out of 1,000 snaps played, he actually played over the slot and on the boundary in nearly 700 snaps. And when he was targeted, he allowed just a 51% completion rate, and a QB rating of only 49%. Okay, 49.7%.

And while he's still got 3 years to go on his contract, he looks cheap, at about 3-4 million/year.

Maybe a solid possibility?

why wouldn't he be worth a Chiefs 1st rounder? He went #11 in the draft in 2018 and our pick will be at the bottom of the round. Guy has a year under his belt which should be more valuable than a wide-eyed rookie.

This all day. It's why it's somewhat asinine for the Dolphins to be trading the guy away in the first place. He's the type of cheap piece you'd ideally want to build around. Ironically, the Marlins made a similarly stupid mistake trading away Christian Yelich who was on a very team-friendly deal and has grown to be one of the top-5 players in baseball.

Reports that 20 plus teams have inquired has to drive the price up a little. Several teams feel like they are competitors and this guy tilts the table in their favor. After hearing that many teams are in im kind of out, i dont want Veach all in paying through the teeth like he did with Clark.
