Good learning experience. He's experienced what Belicheck is going to try to do to him. Now he's ready when we play for keepsies.

I get the context. I totally get it. I just don't quite understand the assumptions that are driving your conclusions. They actually don't synchronize with the context you're describing (at least as I see it.)

It sounds as though you'd be happier with no hope. But, if you're forced to have hope, you'd rather wait until the Lombardi is all wrapped up and ready before you commit to actual, true, sincere, authentic hopefulness.

Is that pretty much it?

Not sure about a nickname for the defense( though I'm loving "The Red Carpet" ), but I've definitely got the theme song:

After being a Chiefs and Royals fan since the late 80's, what do you think?

Is it rational? No, not really. But in all truth, it's easier to watch a team with zero expectations.

I watch a 2nd tier college team that has virtually no shot at a championship when the season starts. As soon as they get their first loss, "virtually" changes to "literally" and the season is pretty fun from there on out.

Again, it's probably not rational but it's a lot easier to have fun watching when you don't care how the game actually turns out.

Berry will come back. I changed my mind about him. I originally thought he wouldn't play, but I think they're saving him for the crucial time when it matters most. That thingy he has takes a while to heal.

give it time, and place him in a walking boot, and he will play. Don't worry. If Berry and the Chiefs believe he couldn't go, wouldn't they have placed him on the IR by now? There is a reason they're taking time with this and not rushing it. No need to.

DJ may not be what he used to be, but he wants that ring and that motivation and drive, leadership will fuel the defense. Is he going to play every down? No. His body can't do it. But don't kid yourself, he is still gonna make plays. Were signing DJ. I feel it bro, I feel the blood rushing in my veins garrrrgh...This organization loves him, and he loves them and was a great member to the KC community. There is a relationship there. I feel that the Chiefs will reward his loyalty because he was good to them and he wants to come back here knowing he has a chance to win it at the end of his career and seeing the state that the team is in. Its match bro!!

And were gonna trade for a legit corner. I smell it! Veach is gonna package picks and were gonna get that legit guy. Move fuller back in the slot where he belongs. Im not worried. My confidence and belief in this team is higher than it has been in years. Arrowhead is gonna be fun in January! See you there for the AFC championship game!

No, but why do we have to settle for less now? We need help on the D now, and even all the other years!

Every coach, GM of a professional franchise knows you strike while the iron is hot. Every year in their respected sport comes a trade deadline to rework your roster.

This year should be no different than any future years, that is unless they a a well oiled unit!

Dude ... if you only knew.

Countless are the times I've kicked myself in the ass for being a Chiefs fan ... sadly, a curse I was born into. Game after Game. Season after season.

I'm used to lack of hope. Actually, I haven't had "real" hope in this team for ... well ... my whole life. (Maybe a few years in the 90s, but even then I was guarded.)

I've learned a few things along the way, though. And one of those things is that life is fragile and often far too short. I can only speak for myself (obviously), but I believe enough in Mahomes and Wally together that I just want to enjoy the ride. I want to see how they work together to build something special. Because I believe they can. And also because I'm tired of not enjoying the team and the sport.

So I'm going to enjoy it this time around. Start to finish. And the finish could be awhile because I honestly believe that Mahomes and Wally can build something here that will last for years.

I'm not throwing objectivity out the window. None of us knows what will happen. But whatever happens, it's a ton better than what we've had for a long time. And it's actually quite exciting, to tell the truth.

So turn that frown upside down. And put a damn bullet in that unicorn's ear.

What time would be more crucial than at Foxboro? He's not gonna come back in week 12 or 13 after not playing for a year and a half. That's not happening.

I think at this point, it's apparent that the Chiefs expected him to be playing already. However, they left it up to him to decide and so far, he simply doesn't want to play. I think the little dust up recently in the media was the Chiefs subtly indicating that they're disappointed.

Furthermore, what he has DOES NOT heal.

The only permanent treatment is surgery, which he elected not to have. That means that treatment is an orthotic insert in his shoes and playing through pain. No amount of time is going to make him "better". It's all about how much pain he can handle. I don't see him playing at all.
