They could've, maybe should've, used it on Tremaine Edmunds last year. That said, he kinda sucked for 4 years before he didn't suck in his contract year. Then he went back to kinda sucking again in Chicago this season.

I mean this idea that players 'take notice' of a franchise tag or not is just stupid. They don't care. You use tags on players you drafted about 90% of the time and those guys didn't really have a choice when you drafted them.

You think some dude in free agency is gonna be like "Man, I'm not gonna sign a 4 year deal with Buffalo because what if they guarantee me a top 5 salary when I'm 30 years old?"

It's just dumb as all get out. No, players don't 'notice' this at all. 90% of them don't give a wet fart about the franchise tag and that's why it still exists. The NFLPA isn't going to burn bargaining capital in CBA talks for something that the overwhelming majority of their members never give a second thought to.

It would suck to see Sneed traded, but becoming and staying a dynasty depends on the HC and the GM getting these types of decisions right.

That was the 2nd time Ramsey was traded. He was not as good as Sneed when they made that trade. When he was traded to the Rams is for a dam ngood haul.
