Remembering Hank
With the Chiefs going retro with the field this opening day, thought it would be a good time to revisit this program KMBC put together when Hank Stram went into the HOF. Great show with The Cool as the moderator. Appearances by Vermeil, Shula, Al Davis, and tons of Chiefs players. 45 minutes, but time well spent. Enjoy!

Amazingly, I had never seen this production (I thought I'd seen every Chiefs-related film ever made) so this was a great experience.

I must admit that when Otis recounted the story about the 500 dollar fine, the roses sent to his mother, and the hug, I got a little verklempt.

What a team that was. Go Chiefs!

I dont remember ever seeing this either it was great thanks for posting it George. It also left me a bit sad my man OT was showing symptoms of the onset of Parkinson's Disease. It may be its at Otis request but I always wonder why local sports in this area report on how he is doing today. Its like he has dropped off the planet.

Years ago, I read Dawson's book. One thing that struck me about Stram was that he liked being seen as worldly and even a little vain. He and Lenny were at Purdue in the '50s and small town kid Dawson looked at his slacks and, in the book, said something like, "There were no pockets. I wondered where he kept his wallet and comb."
