I mean, gotta understand the business side, right? God forbid one team has multiple symptomatic cases. How much is that going to wreck a season? For the same reason you can understand why a plant manager doesn't want to lose 10 workers on a manufacturing line because they went out sick for 2 weeks.

This should be interesting when a vaccinated player is the initial one testing positive...or the ones who have it are all vaccinated.

Are they, then, going pay them while they sit out?

This going to be a disaster to legally implement ...especially if the vaccines arent FDA approved.

My neighbor was vaccinated in March and just tested + for Delta...so being vaccinated doesn't prevent you from catching/spreading it.

How are they going to prove who had it first?

Yes. The memo specifies that the unvaccinated will not be paid for missing games due to Covid.

A private business, which the NFL is, can make any work place rule they chose to. They say everyone wears blue shoes or Tuesdays or your fired, its your choice to continue to work there.

The only prohibited exceptions are the ones in the constitution, Race, color, creed etc. (Read the constitution for the whole list)

While the penalties are pretty stiff, it's hard for me to imagine a ton of games being cancelled this year. Players sitting out? Sure. But I think most teams are 50%+ vaccinated, so you'd think that would prevent too many cases where a game has to be actually cancelled.

When there was discussion about possible canceled games last year I remember part of it involved nobody getting paid.

Unless it becomes a major problem, I don't see too much issue with rescheduling. Did it fine last season.

So, not just the players on the team that causes the forfeit don't get paid, but BOTH team's players don't get paid. I completely misread that the first time I went through it.

Well it's silly their vaccinations rate isn't higher as much as they make. Hopefully it's an end to the pre game testing bullshit this year. What an abomination that was.
