We'll see if the Warriors recover from the end of the season stretch of stinkers.

i don’t think I did complain.

Durant just beat the best and he’ll continue to do so.

I agree especially after seeing that Embiid tweet. He needs to step down or get fired.

Also I love how the NBA and the players interact on social media and the level of pettiness that goes on. You don’t see this in other leagues. It is fascinating and hilarious to watch.

Warriors were winning championships and setting records before Durant got there. He jumped on the bandwagon.

And immediately into the driver’s Seat (NBA Finals MVP). It’s less of a jump and more of a merging.

That would be like Peyton leaving for New England. Or LeBron leaving Cleveland for Boston after losing to them in the playoffs and taking his jersey off.

If Durant left OKC for almost any other team who he thought could realistically win a ring, people would have problems with it, sure, but not to the extent of him leaving for Golden State. Him leaving for Golden State is the weakest move he could have made.

The difference is that KD had an in-his-prime Westbrook who just posted a season average of a triple double in the two seasons since KD left.

LeBron had the corpses of Mo Williams and Zydrunas Ilguaskas. LeBron would not have left Cleveland if he could get the talent that could compete for a championship consistently there.

KD had freaking Westbrook.
Yeah and they played together and didn't win. Also during that time, the owner made it clear he wasnt willing to go into the luxury cap to keep talent. Even Dan Gilbert isn't stupid enough to do that. So how much longer should he have stayed?

he hopped on a 73 win team with a back to back MVP that just beat him the year before. He wasn't a missing piece, it wasn't an experiment, it was an all time great team adding an all time great player to their team and it'll always be seen as that.

He's definitely going to be fired.

And I bet a lot of players from all leagues have burner accounts.

People, at the time, faulted LeBron for leaving Cleveland because of how he announced it, not that he left Cleveland. Then, he came back to Cleveland and won a ring. He redeemed that part of his legacy and has legit nothing left to prove in his career. He can retire right now and say that he was the undisputed player of his generation.

Note: Shaq's prime didn't really overlap with LeBron's. I don't think Kobe belongs in the conversation. I could respect Duncan as an argument for best in his generation, but I think LeBron's track record compared to Duncan's speaks for itself.
LeBron played it perfectly because he knew people are lap dogs and have short term memories.

He left Cleveland, got his rings and returned home as the prodigal son. Helped that the media was in his corner.

Basketball culture same group of players have played with each other since middle school on the AAU circuit. Makes sense they are close with each other.
