Keep doubting CEH

Yup, it's time to go there.

Clyde is being sold below guys on our practice squad (mOrE GOre!!). The Mayocks of CP are coming out of the woodwork to revisit the draft and the 'wasted' first round pick on a RB. He's slow. He's unathletic. He has no vision. He can't pass block. He completely sucks.

I'm not sold on this narrative.

Fumble was inexcusable but highly atypical. Guy has struggled with vision this year. But he flashed early last year. He's still figuring out this OL and the Chiefs are still figuring out how to use him in this system. He was named the MVP of the best college (spread) offense I think we might ever see. He has talent. Just needs to re-find his groove.

I'm not giving up on him as we've seen Reid do more with a lot less. And I think Clyde is primed to turn it up from here.

So, not a homer take. Just a take that's being less pessimistic after a difficult loss. Let this be a safe space for those who haven't given up on Clyde.

I believe.

FWIW - he's scheduled to be one of the guys in the presser today, for anyone who cares to watch. Chiefs usually post it live on Facebook.

I don't know, often times teams play us deep ,and dare us to run, and we can't / don't.

Different. But doable. One play doesn’t make the game. KC had multiple chances throughout, and several after CEH’s fumble.

I was much more disappointed in the D’s inability to get a stop at the end, especially on 4th down, than the fumble itself.

In fact, even aside from that fumble, there’s no running back in football having a worse season than Edwards-Helaire.

Edwards-Helaire has 30 touches this year (27 rushing attempts and three catches), and zero first downs. That’s an astonishingly bad statistic; no other running back in the NFL is close. It’s almost impossible to get the ball that much and never pick up a first down.

The advanced stats at FootballOutsiders.com rank Edwards-Helaire dead last among all running backs in the league, both in his total production and his per-play efficiency. The FootballOutsiders.com stats also rank the Chiefs first in the NFL in passing offense but 30th in rushing offense.

The Chiefs used their first-round draft pick on Edwards-Helaire last season. They need a whole lot more from him than they’ve been getting.
He's literally the worst RB in the NFL right now.

Clyde often gets the ball on 1st down, what a stupid take. Clyde has several 1st down plays gaining more than 5 yards.

The Clyde bashers on chiefs planet must not even watch the games.
