Tony Romo rumor

Gotta ask what do you guys think? There are strong rumors we are interested. I would love it if we got AJ MCCaron from Bengals.

What do you guys think

I'm all for trading up if the next Rodgers is out there, but I think Reid limits this team's ceiling more than anything.

Honest question - If you put Tom Brady on this team and change nothing else, would we win the Super Bowl?

I'm going to say yes, but I'm going to say it with some hesitation because although Brady is 5-2 in the Super Bowl, he won all of those with Bill Belichick coaching rings around their opponents in the other phases of the game.

I think Brady would be good enough to overcome Reid and win the Bowl for us, but I'm not exactly sure.

Reid's failings directly cost us at least 2 wins in the regular season last year, and he has a losing record in the postseason. Would the Brady formula work here? Would he have 5 rings with Andy Reid calling plays and managing the clock and time outs?

I think so, but it's fair to question it IMO

I'd argue the odds of us signing Buffalo's QB as a b/u are higher than Alex being dethroned.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

You mean the QB that slipped 25 spots from his "projected" draft spot and didn't start for three seasons because he couldn't unseat Brett Favre?

That's BS. By your own metric, you wouldn't opt to trading up for "Rodgers" at QB because he wasn't good enough to step in and play from his first day under contract.

EDIT: Also, because over half the league passed on him too.

I never said that was a metric.

I said you identify the right player, and if he's in this year's draft then you move up for him. If he's not then you don't. You don't just panic-draft any QB who falls to us at the end of the first.

It's Andy... go look at McNabb's numbers in PHI, they're not really all that much different. Passing yards in the mid 3,000 .. aside from a season or two, TDs in the low 20s or high teens.

False.

Mcnabb was plagued by awful offensive personnel for pretty much his entire career. When he managed to get some talent around him he put up 3800 yards and 31 tds in 2004. In 2005, before he was injured he was on pace for 4500 yards and 30 touchdowns.

Alex hasn't even come close to those numbers at any point of his career.

Such a terrible take it's almost like you're TigerUppercut. Not even considering the difference in passing eras.

Andy Reid's offenses in Philly were almost perennially top 10 in passing once McNabb was fully developed.

Eagles pass ranks:

31
20
20
19
20
7
8
3
10
6

9
8

Reid is this team's primary limiting factor, not Smith.
