Fans of other teams justification thread

The fans of teams justifying their teams and QBs is getting beyond silly. The Bills fans, for one example, are really reaching deep in the denial bag. Please post what you find.

When you strip it all down and realy look at it, take away the team name, the supporting cast, the coaches, team mates, you're not left with one of the best quarterbacks in the league, you're left with the best quarterback in the league. 17 is the most polarizing player in the modern NFL era. If 17 is dropped into any NFL roster, 17 immediately makes that team more of a contender than any quarterback in the league would. There's a reason 17 is the most played player in Madden, 17 is a living breathing cheat code.

Quarterbacks are employed to throw the ball. Sometimes they run, but a quarterback that can't throw isn't a quarterback, he's a running back. Running backs don't last long because they take a tremendous pounding.

Allen has one hell of an arm and experience should make him more deadly. If I was a Bills fan I'd be hoping the coaches reel in the running aspect of his game. He'll last a lot longer in Buffalo if he's running less. His arm won't do him any good if he's on the sideline with an injury from running the ball.

I do agree that just making it to one doesn't make you elite, but it does set you apart from most qb's who never make it to the dance.

Umm I repeatedly said not only is mahomes elite, and the best, I said he's the greatest QB I've ever seen and will go down as a babe Ruth type legend. ( Thanks again McDermott in the 17 draft, who then doubled down on more stupid trying to start Peterman TWICE including over Josh Allen) we have the Dan Reeves/ Marty Schottenhiemer of this generation

As far as elite qbs in general. Yes Hof is the line for me. Warren Moon and Dan fouts never made a super bowl, they are still great.

Cam newton was not a good passer. His game wasn't even truly dependent on it.

Similar to Lamar Jackson, and tyrod Taylor, and Kaepernick and to a lesser extent Tim Tebow. Rpo qbs aren't going to take you far and if they do it's very narrow in scope.

Jalen hurts is actually the first rpo QB because of his commitment to improving his traditional passing from the pocket and his incredible strength and size , I can see possibly winning over a longer period.

Imo Jalen hurts is everything ppl try to hype Lamar to be. Hurts is more talented throwing and a better leader.

I called hurts breaking out two years ago and let's just say I'm happy with that prediction

From everything I read they overhauled their interior oline and want to go more 12 personnel. Kincaid was a fantastic pick and I can only hope he is half the plyer Kelce is. The Kelce comps are kinda ridiculous but I love that pick.

They'll try to have more power running this year so we'll see. Allen will probably cut his running 30-40%. Probably more in the coming years

If Allen can gets his running to 60-70 attempts and slides a bit more that will be the perfect mix. In the playoffs tho anything goes. He'll need it to have a chance vs Mahomes and Kelce

Great is not elite. Those guys you mentioned were certainly good in their time, but I wouldn't say any of them were elite. Just like I wouldn't consider an average qb who got a ring ala dilfer elite whether they're in the hall or not.

To be elite, you need to have a long productive career AND the hardware to go along with that. Mahomes is the outlier in that if he retired today, he'd be a first ballot guy despite having only been the starter for 5 years

If you do have a ring or have been to a sb, you're still in rare company, which set's you above the vast majority of qb's who've ever played

I certainly agree elite is different from great.

Jordan was elite or transcendent. Patrick Ewing was great. There's a difference

Right now I'd take Allen over Burrow but it's almost a coin flip. I see them as 2a and 2b. Joe is blessed with the best group of weapons in the league and I'd like to see what he looks like when they can't afford them all. But I do give him some credit for having a bad oline. I think the Chiefs or Bills would have smoked the Rams in that SB the Bengals had no business being in. The only reason I would go with Burrow long term is Allen's running amount and style is eventually going to catch up to him unless he changes his game some.

Id take Allen for the next 8 - 10 years

As I said before if I'm facing mahomes I'm taking Allen every time over burrow

As great as burrow is, he's not a sandlot QB and can be beat by traditional defense

If Someone wants burrow over Allen I get it.

Herbert and Lawrence are going to be in the mix too

I have read insane comments by Bills fans saying Allen has the greatest ceiling of any QB in the league. WTF does that even mean?
To me highest ceiling means untapped potential of a young player who has all the intangibles.
Let's start with IQ? If Allen has the greatest ceiling, he must have the greatest IQ of any player at his position? Right?

Wrong. He led the league in turnovers last year with 19. Turnovers are more often than not caused by bad QB play. Not reading the defense well, making a bad throw, etc.
If you rank highest in the turnover metric, your IQ ain't where it needs to be.

Speaking of throws, aside from his underwhelming IQ, Josh Allen can't throw with touch. He is incapable of controlling the speed of his every throw which is why the Bills offense is not surgical and can't sustain long drives consistently.
That explains his red zone inefficency. A small area of the field where ball velocity is crucial in determining the endresult of a drive.

He's one of the only QB's in the NFL that lowers the shoulder and chooses to take on LB's like he's a 260 lb HB.
