Here's a draft in the fantasy world where we tag + trade Ford for Luke Keuchly. While I know not every pick will be someone we had meetings with, I'm trying to make these picks with consideration to guys who we can confirm meetings. 5 of this draft's picks we've met with.

Trade Houston for picks (which I couldn't account for through this draft)

Sign Trey Flowers to replace Ford (only because of the Daly relationship)

So you're starting defense would be

D-Line:
Flowers, Jones, Nnadi, Speaks

LB:
DoD, Keuchly, Hitchens

CB:
Fuller, Oruwariye

Safety:
Berry, Adderley

You build in depth along the D-line with Nnadi's former team mate in Christmas and Miller is a guy who I think has a lot of room to grow, but currently possesses a lot of speed off the edge.

Joseph pushes DoD at linebacker

and I really like Rodney Anderson complimenting Williams + Emanuel Hall (who had a great combine) replacing Conley at WR.

Keuchly's brains are about to turn into mush. I don't think I'd want to let Morse walk than turn around and trade for another flavor of comatose.

Ran it 4 times. Fant or Hockenson was available at Chiefs pick every time. If it actually plays out like that, interesting to see what happens.

Consistently was able to grab Adderly, one of the late 2nd CBS, and Henderson or Montgomery with the first 3 picks.

That's what I'm waiting to do as well.

I think Devin Bush performed his way into the mid first and thornhill performed his way into not making it to our second round picks.

after running several of these sims several times...

it looks like we can get two of the three categories in the first two rounds:
top 5 DE/EDGE
top 5 CB
top 5 S

but by round 3, they're gone.

This is why we really should move Ford for a #2 if possible.

Yep. This is the exact conversation I was having with someone yesterday.

It doesn't look possible to get a good S, CB, AND edge. We have enough picks to get 2 of the 3 but probably not all 3.

I think you just have to go in there eyes open. If they can come out of the top 3 with 3 good players, no matter the position, i'll call that a win.

Even if only one of them is a CB, S or edge player, as long as they don't reach or do something dumb, it'll work out.

This safety FA class is deep enough that we can get a quality safety for cheap. Assuming Berry is back I'd get a guy like Tre Boston and then draft a CB + edge.

The thing we're ignoring with these mocks we post is Veach's talk about his FA board + draft board co-existing together.

If you want clues for what we are going to do in the draft look at where the FA market is deep. We'll likely be filling needs from where FA is the deepest and using the draft to fill in where we think it'll be tough to plug holes affordably in FA.

I think we go corner or edge in round one and sign a FA safety.
