and I bet you threw 90 MPH, too
see that's something there...I was a pitcher, too and I threw 80 MPH (and still do)...and there aren't many people that can throw that hard...and I know how hard 80 MPH is...I'm amazed people out there can hit 100 MPH (probably one of the most impressive athletic feats out there)... I would love to see how fast people on CP can throw a baseball...that should be fun |

If so, no. I didn't pitch. I didn't even play baseball. I played football and basketball but my passion lie elsewhere, so I didn't excel in either. |

you know any lefty that hits EVEN 85 MPH gets drafted... RIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL maybe in the 30th round... but any lefty that has 90 MPH heat is a 10th round pick or better...easily so you're just a ****ing liar dude |

if you're a lefty and hit 90 MPH ONE TIME in front of ANY SCOUT...
it doesn't matter if you're wilder than Ricky ****ing Vaughn...it doesn't matter if you couldn't throw a strike 1 time out of 100 pitches you'd get drafted within 10 rounds so white lightning here was 5'10" 210 with 4.45 speed...threw left handed and averaged between 87-89 and topped out at 91 hahahaha JFC do you know how RARE lefty pitchers are? Do you know how RARE it is for a lefty to throw the ball 80 MPH? Like I said...if you're a lefty throwing harder than 85 MPH you'd be a household ****ing name to any scout worth a damn...and you would've been drafted (probably 3 ****ing times)...arm troubles or no arm troubles |

He went to Wichita State and pitched there until he graduated. He got drafted in the 3rd round by the Red Sox and had some arm trouble. I think he's still bouncing around the BoSox organization in AA somewhere as a reliever. He's probably 28 or 29 at this point, so I don't imagine he's going to ever 'make it'. (Tough break, he was a damn nice guy. Valedictorian, Wendy's HS Heisman finalist, Varsity basketball captain; the works. He had every reason to be an asshole but was as good a guy as you'd ever meet). The point being that you're just wrong. There's no shortage of lefties that can chuck the ball that don't get drafted out of HS. He had to pay his dues in college before he got a look and when he did he was even taken quite high (so it's not as though the talent wasn't there). Sometimes you just don't draw the right eyes your way. EDIT: Looks like he threw a handful of innings at AAA last season, so it appears he's still kicking around out there.

I could probably hit atleast 80.
I was hitting 60 when I was still playing little league. Yet, I played in the outfield. I didn't pitch because if I tried to throw it as hard as I could I would have probably made Rick Ankiel look like Greg Maddux. The impressive part isn't hitting 80mph. It's controlling it to be worth a damn. |

every lefty I ever faced (and I remember, as I bat left handed) that through even 83-85 MPH was drafted...now they never signed, or were offered a contract, or were worth a shit...
but teams look anywhere and everywhere for left handed pitching talent |

I played outfield because of my speed and arm. Oh btw, I was always hitting 3rd over .500 through out highschool. That is until I stopped playing for the Varsity coach who later ended up in prison. You act like you are some hot shit because you throw 80. Whats that get you on? A girls fast pitch softball team? |
