Speaking of which, it's going to take me a few to crank out a selection. Uno momento.

The Ravens have one last selection that I didn't even know we had. Ha!
Which is fun. I thought I was done. I picked up the blue chip for the Ravens' DL, and added a ton of skill at skill positions: WR (Paul, Harris) and CB (Burton, Rutland). One area the Ravens did need help, however, was the OL. And while I did them a huge favor in picking up a versatile, underrated talent in Joseph Barksdale in the 2nd, I want to beef them up a bit up front. This is also near the bottom of the draft so I'm going to roll the dice a bit with this pick. Nevada has cranked out some intriguing talent this year, from Kaepernick to Moch to Green (Texans' pick in the 6th). I've watched a lot of tape from Nevada and I love their program this year, and its ability to translate to the pros. So with the Ravens' last pick, I'm going to select OG John Bender, Nevada. Yet another huge, physical specimen with near-peerless work ethic. Like everybody from that program. |

Its late and this talent pool seems to be picked through but there are a couple guys that could make a roster. This kid has the versatility to maybe stick.
Jeremy Kerley, WR/PR, TCU Their next pick is not a big need, but the talent is there as this kid is a devastating blocker and can be used as a receiver as well. Henry Hynoski, FB, Pittsburgh That does it for the Falcons...sfeihc is on the clock with the Lions...hopefully his guy is still on the board. |

Did you read the same report I did about Kerley at AP via draft tek? They have him in the top half of round 2.

The Detroit Lions select local product Chris Rucker DB MSU. Kid can play just needs to grow up a bit.
The Pittsburgh Steelers pass on son of Greg Lloyd to select a bad man from a small school. Their pick is Frank Kearse NT Alabama A&M. snr pm'ed |

Hynoski is gonna be a player too IMO..even though they have Mughali (sp?) I think this kid could win a roster spot and if he doesn't he will be coveted. Very good blocker and can catch. Im happy with the talent I got for both teams. |

Here's my recap for the Lions and Steelers
1) Tyron Smith OT USC 2) Aaron Williams CB Texas 3) Mason Foster OLB UW 4) K. J. Wright OLB Miss St. 5) Cortez Allen CB The Citadel 7) Chris Rucker DB MSU The Lions biggest need was addressed in a BIG way with Smith still on the board in round one. Hopefully Screen Door Backus can show Tyron the ropes and Stafford lives. Williams, Allen and Rucker gives the Lions three DB's who can help right away. I would expect one of them, possibly Rucker to be more of a FS type than pure corner. The Lions OLB's going into the draft are Ashlee Palmer and Bobby Carpenter. 'Nuff said. I was very happy to land both Foster and Wright. Pittsburgh 1) Brandon Harris CB The U 2) Ben Ijalana OT Villanova 3) Will Rackley OG Lehigh 4) Nate Irving ILB NC St. 5) Alex Henery K Cornboy U 6) Taiwan Jones RB EWU 7) Frank Kearse NT Alabama A&M Harris gives them an upgrade in the burnt toast of a secondary that Rodgers laid waste to in the Super Bowl. Ijalana and Rackley at the very least solidify the right side of their offensive line. Irving is a player to develop behind the ageless Farrior. Henery gives them an instant upgrade at kicker or punter or both. Jones was a luxury pick, a kid who can be a game breaker for the Steelers. Kearse is a guy who can and will play the nose in the league. Last edited by Sfeihc; 03-26-2011 at 11:52 AM.. |

This has been fun. Here it is:
With the honorable distinction of Mr. Irrelevant, this guy has a great shot at the practice squad and from there who knows. He needs to bulk up a bit and meld his smarts and consistency with the athletic presence that he DOES have. With the final pick in the 2011 CP Mock Draft, the Green Bay Packers select Ryan Whalen, WR, Stanford |

This team was so much fun to draft for. Any large holes you saw in the postseason are likely going to be filled when they get guys back from injury (Jermichael Finley, Ryan Grant, Atari Bigby, Al Harris, Nick Barnett... shit that's a lot).
On top of that they get the opportunity to pretty much back up any positions where it might be PERCEIVED as weak but only if another freak injury curse happened. Pretty much this enabled me to draft whoever the hell I wanted. I got a lot of smart and fast players who are going to add a whole 'nother dimension to this team. That's why I loved this draft. 1. Mike Pouncey, OG, Florida 2. Demarco Murray, RB, Oklahoma 3. Chimdi Chekwa, CB, Ohio State 4. James Brewer, OT, Indiana 5. Chris Conte, S, Cal 6. Tyrod Taylor, QB, Virginia Tech 7. Terrell McClain, DT/DE, South Florida 7. Ryan Whalen, WR, Stanford |
