Agreed. Appreciate Cain, but he never got to where I was hoping he could. We lost a nice piece, not Torii Hunter.

Yes, I realize that would include Jermaine Dye, Johnny Damon, Carlos Beltran, and Mike Sweeney. And you know what? He was a more valuable player than all of those while in Royals uniform. AND won a World Series.

Lorenzo Cain best yr was 7.2 WAR & 3rd in MVP voting. Other multiple years of 5+ WAR.

Damon had one 6 WAR yr w/ only other yr 2+ WAR.

Beltrans best was 6.1 WAR. One at 5 WAR.

Dye never had above 4.5 WAR.

Sweeney's best was 4.5 WAR.

Honestly, it's actually a debate between Gordon and Cain who is the best player since Brett. And I'd give it to Cain.

Eh, Torii Hunter never won anything

Cain got hurt a lot, but he also played through a lot of pain. Cain was hurt throughout the whole 2015 Postseason

I've got alot of respect for him. That bases clearing double put the dagger into the Mets and allowed KC to celebrate a championship

The dude got after Eric Hosmer in the dugout on multiple occasions when Eric cut off his throws home in 2013.

He was the most valuable player on the team, bar none, and one of our best players since George Brett.

Arguing his value over whether or not teams had to pitch around him ignores his generational defense, and it also shows you’ve forgotten that Cy Young winner Dallas ****ing Kuechel DID pitch around him in the 2015 ALDS, directly resulting in a three run nail-in-the-coffin bomb from Kendrys Morales.

Trolling or not, CF has always been my favorite position, and no one insults one of the greatest athletes the Royals have ever fielded in the outfield.
