It's been said countless times. Extend Mathieu, restructure Mahomes and/or Jones, and maybe another couple of moves and they can easily create another $20 million or so in cap room, probably even more if they needed to.

Wow this is as shocked as I’ve been about a release since Maclin got cut. I thought for sure at least 1 of these guys would be here this year.

I think this means 2 things:

1. Lucas Niang is your starting RT
2. We’re going after a LT in FA

There’s no way in hell I can see the Chiefs starting 2 rookie tackles to protect Patrick.

They weren't going to pay these two to sit on their asses next year with those injuries (which is a very distinct possibility). This frees up money to sign guys who will actually be playing in 2021.
