If I recall, in Spags scheme, the Safeties don't have to be nearly as impressive as they are in Sutton's scheme. I'd like a scheme that focused more on the front 7 and I think that is Spags...so I would be all for that. I'd like to get away from depending on an all-world secondary and instead, be creative with mixing and matching the skill-sets of a variety of the front 7. I think that's how we beat the teams we need to beat to be perennial AFC Champs. Mahomes handles the rest.

Also, Kpass is basically the same size as Mario. So, you'd have to accept the possibility he excels as a DE. This is why this is a dumb point to argue. Everyone is different, and the idea that you would ever not change a scheme based on one or two players whose contracts are widely considered to be albatrosses is spectacularly short-sighted.

I want Spags here.
Chiefs and the Pats are the best teams in the AFC, and we want to beat the Pats obviously....Spags would be the guy I’d trust in to scheme against the Pats. I remembered when the Giants beat the Pats, Spags did some of the best defensive game planning and adjustments I’ve seen from a defensive coordinator against Brady.

I would not be shocked at all if they tag and trade Ford and re-do Houston's deal.
I would be surprised but not shocked if they cut Houston as well if he won't re-do his deal. You can literally sign a stud 4-3 DE with the $15.6m in post June 1 cap savings, and one that won't miss half the season. |
