I went to a dinner party tonight and the host gave me a bottle of Macallen 21. Not a bad parting gift.

Not a big Scotch fan... My choice is Crown Reserve. I know, I know.. it's a blended whiskey. But it's still my choice.

I wish I was at that dinner party. Someone got me turned onto Buffalo Trace, and it's ****ing incredible. Almost as good as Makers. I had a bottle of Makers last night I damn near finished off. I've turned snooty and like the whiskey stones. Doesn't dilute the flavor and still chills my drink how I like it. Best of both worlds.

I like Maker's Mark too, but it's expensive for a working guy like me.

I work in a commission driven industry. I celebrate sales with Makers. Big sales with The Macallan, and once in a while the Balvenie. I'm more of a Buffalo Trace down to Jim Beam every day drinker.

Buffalo Trace priced at $20 a fifth at Barry Road Wal-Mart.
Fantastic bourbon for the price. Or you can pick up a fifth of Bulleit for $25. Also a great bourbon for the price. Most of the time if I'm buying the shit I'm going for the handle of Jim Beam Black. Works well enough for me. |
